i think everyone forgets terrell brandon's enormous contract and disappointment, do to injuries when they talk about kg. also the joe smith fiasco, which cost them young talent to either trade or build on. other teams are having success with high paid stars, so you cannot really put blame on kg. they have just had bad luck with injuries and made a stupid ass mistake with joe smith.

nuff said. I don't get why not all the great players never do this. Why?
I mean, it's all about being right place at the right time. If you want it that bad, why not do it? Just look at Steve Kerr and Robert Horry, do you think it's a coincidence?

i dont see why they even need to go for the big money. no matter what, they'll probably be millionaires, unless they make stupid mistakes. i'd be perfectly happy making a million dollars a year. if I were them, i'd go for the championship.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing KG for taking the money they offered him... I'm just saying I think you can't have both.. big money and a championship... if you know that and accept that... but don't dream that it will happen... unless the player signs with a contender for much less money...

i think for some it's all for the money....take Vin Baker for instance, he's washed up and has a b/s contract....it's for the money...then look at Dirk, little contract, great player....championship....KG's contract is just for money now....Minny hasn't taken the next step to make a championship

Shaq has both and so did Michael Jordan. And you can add Tim Duncan and Kobe to the list after they get their new deals.

Dirk only makes less than Baker because of the new salary cap rules. But if the cap didn't exist he would be making close to if not more than KG.

big example is shawn kemp before he restructured his contract.

if I were to play the game, I wouldn't care about the money. Sure I need money, but as long as I can pay off my bills and have a lil cozy home, it doesn't matter. The game is about THE GAME, not the money. I'd rather have the Championship over the mula.

it's not how much he will ask for, it's how much he will be offered. and he will be offered the MAX and accept it.

    yea.

we can't be so sure that Kobe is gonna stay in LA. there was an article on espn saying that he kinda wanted his own team and wasnt sure about his future

    edited:
screw that. he can get the max contract from another team
