Chris Thomas of Notre Dame withdrew his name and will return for his junior season. Minard, Nelson and Thomas were honorable mention selections on the 2002-03 AP All-America team. Also on the list of pullouts were two other players viewed as possible first-round choices -- 6-9 Viktor Khryapa of Russia and 6-10 Anderson Varcjao of Spain. Three college freshmen, Sani Ibrahim of the College of Southern Idaho, Antonio Lawrence of San Jose State and Erazem Lorbek of Michigan State, all pulled their names back. Ibrahim and Lawrence will return to school while Lorbek will play in Europe. The withdrawals left 46 early entry candidates -- 29 college and high school players and 17 international players.</div>
Lorbek will play in Europe because he signed with an agent and thus lost his NCAA eligibility... that could really hurt his chances of ever playing in the NBA... I don't understand why he withdrew from the draft... He can always go and play in the Europe if he doesn't get drafted... why not try?
Good decisions by all of them. And it doesn't mention Charlie Villanueva headed to UConn now. Sucks for Lorbek though, and I think he made a dumb decision too. If he doesn't get drafted, play in Europe, whats the point of pulling out now. He probably wasn't going to get drafted though.
hopefully the guys that dropped out made a good decision. paval's a dummy, but i think the rest were good decisions.
