<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Antonio Davis, Morris Peterson and Toronto's fourth overall pick to Dallas for Steve Nash and Raef LaFrentz. The Mavericks get Davis, the tough guy and post presence they need. He's a little small for the Western Conference, but he's rugged and can battle the bigger forwards in the West. The Mavs also get the Raptors' No. 4 overall pick to get a project big guy they can wait for, like Chris Kaman. The key in the deal is Steve Nash, the British Columbia native, returning to Canada. Nick Van Exel was on the court at the end of all the Mavs' big playoff games, and Nash comes up for a new deal after the 2004-05 season. Better to trade Nash a year soon. The Raptors also get Raef LaFrentz, who'll fit better in the East away from the Mavs' frenetic game. Toronto would be so thrilled to get Nash, a potential franchise savior, it would probably throw in whomever the Mavs wanted, perhaps Peterson or to expand the deal if the Mavs want Alvin Williams and would send back someone like Evan Eschmeyer. </div>

    Won't happen..but it is interesting...

If mavs are going to sign malone i see no reason why they should or want to do this trade...they would be getting two guys part of a 20 win team.....not too impressive

if mavs make a trade or whatever happens i would like to nash maybe with nj cause if jkidd leaves which is likely, hell need a replacement if the nets wanna stay good +nash would offer a hell of a lot better shooting than kidd especially behind the arc,if works out kidd may have his chace to get a ring

why mix up a winning team? just add a player to mix and compete for the championship!
Mark Cuban may be strange, he's certainly not that stupid to trade away the engine of his team...

Yeh but the back up engine is Nick Van Exel who was a real super sub in the playoffs and is more than capable of starting. Also Dallas have big man problems(Raef is good but can't play in Dallas) apart from Dirk. Davis will really help out there. The 4th pick could be Bosh giving Dallas a line up of

    PG NVE
    SG Finley
    SF Dirk
    PF Bosh
    C Davis.

    Compared to

    PG Nash
    SG Finley
    SF Dirk
    PF Raef
C Bradley (the second line up changes a lot but that was there main one in the playoffs).

I don't think Dirk played a lot at SF... Griffin and later on Bell were starting at SF... Dirk was at PF and Bradley or Raef at C.
Giving up Nash is a hell of a price for the Mavs, sure NVE is capable of starting anytime, but coming from the bench he gives them they energy boost they need... with him starting it would be different.. it would weaken their bench...
I agree that they aren't strong at C, but even without a pure C they had the best record in the league! And... Don Nelson likes LaFrentz a lot because he uses him to create mismatches at C. And if Don Nelson likes one thing it is creating mismatches...
I don't think that Antonio Davis could take them to a championship, he's not that good....
IMHO this trade is not gonna happen..

NVE's better off the bench...I agree frankie...AD isn't needed for Dallas...they just should add a player and go from there...no need tradin off Nash and Raef for AD and the 4th pick...then they're screwed....

I don't think Cuban would let Nash go.

Ok, thats more realistic then any of yours.

Nash is way beter then Mo Peterson
    Davis is equal to Raef
Fourth is to sweeten the deal

i cant believe you just said that.....

4th pick is nothing compared to nash as he is an allstar and one of the best PGs in the league. Davis isn't better than lefrentz they're even. Nash is better than peterson, and we wouldnt need him anyway because of lamond murray. The only problem is our PF spot is gone...if they threw in their 29th pick and we through in JYD, we could get jerome beasely.
