<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Forward Robert Horry told ESPN that he expects to become a free agent when Tuesday's June 1 deadline arrives. Horry said the Lakers, the team he's played for the past 6-1/2 seasons, will opt not to pick up his contract on Monday. The earliest Horry can sign with another team is July 16. In 11 NBA seasons, the 6-10 Horry has averaged 9.1 points and 6.2 rebounds. But he's hit some big shots during the playoffs, and has played on five NBA title winners.</div>
So does this mean hes NOT 100% sure NOT gunna be in LA, or does this mean hes just gunna havta to sign for even less money?!
i think he is going to go to houston to be closer to his daugher. i'll miss horry representing the purple and gold, but he has always stated basketball is not his priority. he has always put his family first, i definately respect that, so i can't be mad at him for leaving the lakers.
Thats where i figured him to go... but the question is "Is Robert Horry resgining with LA outta the question (for less money)"...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "purehoops":</div><div class="quote_post">Thats where i figured him to go... but the question is "Is Robert Horry resgining with LA outta the question (for less money)"...</div> the answer is you have to wait until july 17th.
his daughter has a rare sickness, therefore he still is in thoughts to her. I think he will join Houston Rockets.
haha. maybe hell end up on de celtics. first rick fox before he wsas anythikng and then robert horry after he was anythinhg. certainly would fit.
Seriously who would want him..he is basically finished....he would be a good fit with boston though..at least then he has another PF that throw up bricks with him
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "truemaster14":</div><div class="quote_post">I thought he said if he cant play for the lakers he would retire.</div> thats what im thinking, he will probably retire
He should of retired this season IMO..and gone out on top with that shot against kings..but this year he was terrible...and mainly from three-point range..2-28 in the playoffs...OUCH!! was it really worth it....lakers didn't win the title...he should of retired after they won the title last year..and did what robinson did...go out on top
It?s easy to talk afterwards... before the beginning of this season everybody thought that the Lakers would win another championship, and they need a good shooting Horry to do that... I don?t think Horry is gonna retire, he?s still in good shape, just lost his shooting touch a little bit, but he has a lot of pride, so he won?t go out like that... I don?t see him returning to the Lakers, otherwise they would?ve picked up the option in his contract. I think he will be picked up by another team in need of a sharpshooting and rebounding forward.
They don?t need him at the Mavs I think... certainly not for shooting (they have enough shooters), but maybe for his defense. Imagine Horry playing on the Spurs, hmm... why not? Another 3-point threat when Duncan is double teamed... and he can go pretty strong to the ring also... But given his personal situation, Houston might be high on his list, but could Jeff Van Gundy use him?
Don't be surprised if the he stays with the Lakers. Phil Jackson hates to give up players who are familiar with the triangle and Horry runs it so well. At the very least L.A. will match any offer Houston, or anyone else gives Horry. Unless, of course, someone makes a mistake and decides to overpay him. Also, I don't really see Houston offering him much money. Eddie Griffin really came on last year and they are deep at the '4' with Mo' Taylor around too.
