Orlando is turning to free agency to find a young -- but seasoned -- point guard. Antonio Daniels, who played sparingly with Portland last season, is high on the Magic's list. He may be in town sometime today or Wednesday. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/bask...ports-headlines
Daniels could be a nice fit. Reece Gaines will be a good pro but it's really tough to depend on a rookie to play 35-40 mins a night on a playoff team. If Gaines stumbles out of the gate and doesn't produce for the first month it could easily cost them a 3-4 losses, and then if he hits the rookie wall over the last 6 weeks it could cost them several more and home court advantage in he first round or two of the playoffs. Antonio Daniels could keep things stable and he might have a bit a of a resurgence in Orlando where he can play with a level-headed star on a team without an ounce of the chemistry problems Portland has.
they need to find a replacement for darrell armstrong, and antonio daniels would be a good fit on this team. he's a great one on one defender and has the ability to get to the rim and finish. but i think orlando should go after speedy claxton and open up their offense. imagine speedy running the break with t-mac & gooden filling the lanes!!!
it seems like the magic would do anything to get daniels. btw u should move this thread in the magic board anyone.
