<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) - Philadelphia 76ers forward Monty Williams, who spent much of last season on the sidelines, exercised his option for the 2003-04 season Tuesday.

Last summer, Williams signed a one-year deal with an option for a second season. He is a nine-year veteran with his fifth team.

The 6-8 Williams averaged 4.4 points and 2.1 rebounds in just 21 games last season. He missed 57 games due to injury, undergoing surgery to repair a cartilage tear in his left knee late in the exhibition season and suffering a bone bruise in the same knee in December.

Williams also has played for New York, San Antonio, Denver and Orlando and has averaged 6.8 points and 2.3 rebounds in 456 games. </div>

He has to stay with the 76ers because no one else would take him after the horrible season he had.

yeah, he should have found a better situation if he didnt want to stay with the magic. Even after he came back from injury larry brown wouldnt play him. If he played him at all he would never put him where he is most efective, in the post. Instead he had playing on the perimeter, and he has no shot at all.
