<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Rockets began the free-agent bargaining season by adding to the list of free agents and reaching out toward the one of their own they most want to keep. The Rockets opted not to pick up their option on the contracts of guard Tito Maddox and forward Terence Morris, their second-round picks of the past two seasons. General manager Carroll Dawson said both players were invited to play for the Rockets' entry in the LA Summer Pro League in Long Beach, Calif., beginning July 10, with the opportunity of earning a place on the team's training camp roster. Maddox is expected to play for the Rockets in Long Beach, but Morris could try to hook up with a team providing a better chance of offering a roster spot next season. The Rockets began their pursuit of free agents by contacting 6-8 forward James Posey's agent, Mark Bartelstein. No contract figures were discussed. Bartelstein said Posey has received interest from Chicago, Orlando, Detroit, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Portland. "We talked, but we talked to a bunch of teams," Bartelstein said of the Rockets' interest in Posey. "There is a lot of interest in him because of his age (26) and the things he does." The Rockets also went to work pursuing free-agent coaches. With Michael Jordan's failed bid to buy the Milwaukee Bucks over, Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy renewed talks with former Knicks center Patrick Ewing about joining his staff as an assistant coach. </div> He would be a good signing..also larry brown has been in contract with seattle's kevin ollie..about hoping to sign him next season..pacers,wizards and mainly sonics want him...[/u]
 they are interested in those players who said they would sign....posey would be a nice player to have..but prince's minutes would be limited
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "raptors21":</div><div class="quote_post">so pistons are getting ,posey,coleman,resign rip,ollie?lol</div> dont forget about maggette
What the hell are you on about? all the players that are mentioned..are from articles and sources...and you lot need to look around...on loads of message boards.Suggesting for their team to go after certain players..IT's the damn off season!!!!!!!!!! what the hell is there is talk about?
It just annoys me when people mention this about players i want to come to detroit..when clearly is all through articles...and what else is there to talk about? PLAYER SIGNINGS!! thats all...
but seriously I think maggette will want to go to a better situation than detroit. He wants more than money he wants the playing time and stats. Detroit cant offer him as much playing time as some other teams could offer.
If they don't clippers will keep him..as they can match any offer..maggette is a star waiting to happen....i'm telling you
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "raptors21":</div><div class="quote_post">so pistons are getting ,posey, coleman, resign rip,ollie?lol</div> Posey would fit in fine We dont need coleman If we trade chucky then we are gonna need Ollie And we will resign rip no doubt.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I dont think anyone will offer him more than the MLE. </div> He will get offered/sign way more than that.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">we'll see, corey maggette isnt worth more then 4.8 a season</div> I must've missed something if players were all of a sudden signed for what they are worth. Players get overpaid all the time, and in Maggette's case getting paid only the MLE will be underpaying him.
posey would fit in immediately with the pistons. he is a "larry brown" type player and a great defender. he's also a good slasher and can hit the open shot from outside. he would be an upgrade over curry, but yes it will hurt tayshaun's development. the pistons have created a tremendous amount of buzz, it seems they are the place to be for the free agent group this year. they should do something bold and focus on stealing jermaine o'neal from their division rivals. imagine a front court of jermaine at sf, big ben at pf, and darko at c, that would be insane!!!
