    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting "shapecity":</div><div class="quote_post">

purehoops - having shaq does help kobe in many ways. he takes a lot of pressure off kobe and the rest of the team. but i don't see how this makes kobe any less of a player. kobe is talented and has an all around game. he has improved every season and continues to build his arsenal of offensive moves. he has extended his shooting range and is now a consistent 3point shooter. during the end of the season he mastered his pump fake to draw the foul and still hit the jumper. he can create his own shot and create for his teammates, he can defend and takes pride in it, and he can finish in so many ways. he has the fade away shot, he has the jab step, he has IT ALL. .</div>

The things in bold are created by Shaq... Shaq is like a magnet for defends... Kobe is not defended out on the 3 point line... everyone play the Lakers keep 1 eye on Shaq, the other eye on the player...

and when you talk about Kobe havin more range than KG... its like sayin KG has a better post game than Kobe... they are different size players and KG is supposed to have a better post game and KB is supposed to have more range... KG is more rounded... and he is double team WAY more often the KB...

even if you have an open 3 pt shot you still have to make it. and kobe actually makes a lot of them while shaq is on the bench. he extended his game because he worked in the off season everyday on developing his range. he bulked up so he would have the stamina to make long shots down the stretch of games.

of course duncan and kg are better rebounders, they are inside the paint more than kobe and are a lot taller. kobe is also a triple double threat and he would average a lot more assists if his players could make the damn open shots and layups he creates for them.

kobe makes the players around him better just like kidd, i don't understand how you can say differently.

kobe has a better post up game than kg, AND a better outside game. kg only developed a solid go to move last season, prior to last season he relied on his athleticism and quickness to score. kobe has 3 post moves already.

fine you can have pierce as a better rebounder, and he gets smoked in everything else.

how can you say kobe won't do it again? he's become a solid 3pt shooter, he might do it next season because of his injury, but i'm sure his 3pt shot isn't just going to disappear.

the refs adore kobe, the refs also adored, bird, magic, and jordan. it really has nothing to do with kobe's talent.

like i said ive never seen ANYBODY adorded as much as kobe by refs.
i dont buy for a second that kobe would have more asssists on a nother team. he wouldnt have as many without shaq. the guys scored whenever he wants. i dont caare if he takes a couple dribbles here and there.
and kobe doesnt smoke pierce in passing, driving, threes (ecxept the first hal of last year) defense or cltuch play. very close in all areas. same with tmac

the players around Kobe arnt much good... sept for Shaq

huh? then how does KG score? he has a better post up game then Kobe... its just stupid to think otherwise... hes doubled in the post all the time too...

kobe is supposed to have a better outside game as kg is supposed to have a better inside game... it goes with the terroritory they play in and hieght... the pass the same (6apg)... and the fact is KG had more trip dubs and dub dubs BY FAR...

that's b.s. kobe leads his team in the 4th quarter. kg is a great leader and great talent. kobe is the playmaker on the lakers, how is that not leading your team? he's just co-leader with shaq.

purehoops - kg's post game is still raw, i told you how he scores. he's more athletic and a lot quicker than the other big men in the league. he's also very agressive. kg is my second favorite player in the league, and i think he will get better. i still think he has a lot of work to do, to become a solid post player. he needs to develop his fadeaway shot and maybe a drop step. i'm sure kevin mchale can help him with that move!

kobe has a better post up game, so does gary payton. a lot of guards have better post games than kg.

becasue shaq is the erason they win. they can win without kobe. not without shaq. thats leading the team. thats why shaq was finals MVP three teims in a row. Kobes a go to ugy in the 4th quarter but when u NEED 2 point u go to shaq and he also get s the rebounds and gets other players open shots. hes more valueble than kobe and so is KG

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAA... dude... DID YOU SEE HIS FADEAWAY POST JUMPER IN THE PLAYOFFS... OMG... man... there was no stopin it... its his main post move... your right... its a bit raw but its still better than most of the L... KG scores in the post very well... there is no arguement that will make me believe that Kobe's is better...

i told you shaq is more valuable already, but that doesn't necessarily make him a better player. when i say kobe is the best player, i'm referring to overall skill, no one is better than him.

yeah kg finally developed a go to shot, but kobe's still a better post up player than kg. kobe has had the fade away shot since his second year in the league. and since then he's added many more post up moves. kg's fadeaway was on in the playoffs, but he can't do it consistently against the better defending pf's in the league yet. he had mark madsen guarding him in the playoffs, he has a huge height advantage already, and once kg jumps he has clear shot. when he can make that shot with regularity against duncan and sheed and some of the other bigger 4's in the league then we can say his fadeaway is a go to move. you are in denial thinking kg has a better post up game over kobe. there's no way, just watch kobe in the paint, he's unstoppable, he has too many moves he can use and he's strong with the left and right hand. even antoine walker has a better post game than kg, but too bad he doesn't use it more.

td and kg and shaq are the best players in the league. then comes tmac and kobe(tied, since both are pretty much the same)

td-dominated the lakers by himself, he didn't have a consistent #2 option. he just dominated kobe <u>and</u>shaq.

kg-deserved MVP, he lead his team to home court advantage in the tough west. he lead the league in double double, and had plenty of triple doubles to top it.

shaq-most dominating player in the game, without him lakers are nothing.

going back to the referees, kobe does get every call. tmac and pp don't even get close to that. tmac gets nothing. he gets pushed every game and gets nothing. pp gets more calls than tmac, but still not even close to kobe. it has to be about skill shape, why else would kobe get all the calls and someone like madsen doesn't get the same call?

pretty much everything kobe does is because of shaq. he gets better shots than tmac, because opposing teams don't double him, because shaq is there. his defense is considered the best because who wants to drive in on him and get swatted by shaq? so that means more people shoot jumpers and it's harder to hit a jumper than a layup. the only thing that he does better than tmac IMO is the biggest thing. clutch. tmac isn't clutch at all. i think defense is about the same, tmac's the better shooter, scorer, passer(when he gets players who can shoot), rebounder. but tmac just can't hit shots when it matters, so that almost cancels out a lot of the stuff and makes kobe more famous. tmac is the best SG for the 1st 46 min of the game, then kobe is the best for the last 2.

i'm trying not to hate on kobe, it's just i don't think that he is the best. don't get me wrong, kobe is a great player but not the best.

in the NBA, doesn't dominance=greatness? if you aren't dominant your NOT the best player in the league, sure you may have the talent, but the fact is, size, strength, and sure dominance ties into being great. I think the only arguement you can make is kobe being the best SG, which he is, but he can't be the best because he isn't dominant, he can be stopped. Players like KG, Duncan, and Shaq rarely can be stopped.

u really dont know basketball do you? u really think were all just idiots stating blind opinions? thats ridiculous. u havent stated a single fact since youve been here and "kobe is the best" doesnt count because thats an opinion and its wrong. How much more information do u need to know that kobe isnt the best player in the game or on his team. Even if u think hes the most athletic that doesnt mean hes the most talented basketball player or that he knows and understands the game more than the next guy. hes not the best basketball player in the game im sorry but theres no way around it.

see i was talking about The best player in the league, not the one who can three sixty over seven people because thats not the case, talent yeah maybe kobes the best, but the best players are people who can't be stopped. Thats why i think dominance is greatness.

talent can be judged....but people who get the job done are the best.

i think he's entitled to his opinion just like you are entitled to yours. i agree he needs to point out more evidence, but this is the laker team forum so you can expect a lot of bias towards the lakers and their players. i think you can easily argue kobe is the best player in the league, and other members can easily argue shaq, duncan, or kg are the best. even toronto fans consider vince the best, and philly fans think ai is the best in the league. but i think most of us can agree kobe, shaq, kg, duncan, and tmac are the top 5 players ... and the order is gonna be based on personal preferences. i'm not here to change anyone's opinion, but i'm just stating the reasons why i think kobe is the best in the league and hopefully you guys can respect what i've posted.
