In this case we do know because Marion hasn't shown the ability to create his own shot, which is something a first option needs to do. He is too complacent; doesn't attack the defense, he is too satisfied with just standing behind the three point line and waiting for a rebound to bounce his way. Mashburn is a guy that can attack an offense in an assortment of ways.

Marion will get better. He is still very young and is a great player and a all-star in the west.

He drives to the hoop a lot. he has a nice outside shot also.

He hardly drives to the hoop anymore. It's like he has Vince Carter syndrome. And he has an OKAY outside shot, nothing great.
