<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">he played every position. it doesnt matter if i put him at PF or SF unlike kobe</div> It doesn't matter if a player can play more than one position because the fact is that a majority of the greatest players ever are versatile enough to play more than one position. What matters in things like these is the primary position that these players played so it doesn't make sense to put Bird at PF or Magic and Oscar at SG or other variations I have seen. Oscar's primary position was PG, Birds SF, Magics PG, etc. Therefore my team would be: PG- Oscar SG- MJ SF- Bird PF- Barkley C- Wilt
MJ, he had to play with some decent opponents unlike when wilt played, he was like shaq playin in a highscool league, the talent just wasnt the same
wilt played against more hall of famers than jordan has. have you heard of bill russell? willis reed? wes unseld? bob pettit? oscar robertson? Wilt Chamberlain played from 1968-73 please do some homework and go back and look at how many hall of famers played during his era.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "the MDE":</div><div class="quote_post">Best ever: PG.....Magic SG....Jordan SF....Kobe (will be) PF....Malone C....Chamberlain</div> roflmao... your takin this Kobe is so great thing to far man... there are people way better than him... PG Magic SG Jordan SF Bird PF Barkley C Wilt

Also, Wilt played against a young Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "sunsfan1357":</div><div class="quote_post">and none of them ever guarded MJ.</div>Okay, he played against McGrady, Bryant, Johnson (played SG a lot), R.Miller, etc. In decades to come we will look back and say something like, so and so was good, but he never played against the great HOFers like Bryant and McGrady like Jordan did.
If by Johnson you are referring to Magic, he did not play SG a lot. Reggie Miller might not be a hall of famer, and either way it's not like he is some sort of defensive wiz. When MJ was in his championship years he played Kobe and McGrady when they were just coming out of high school. He only played them at this high level of play for basically 1 1/2 years (missed a lot of his first "comeback" season) and he wasn't the same Jordan.
PG.....Magic SG....Jordan SF....Larry Bird PF....Malone C....Shaq-with his size he would be better in the same time period as wilt.
no because he never would of thought to play the game like wilt and use his size so much cuz no one had done that yet.
Olskool is right. Even Wilt didn't use his size as much as he could've. His goto shot was a fadeaway for crying out loud. Also Wilt got beat up so much more than Shaq has ever gotten beaten up so we can only imagine how long Shaq would hold up then.
actually i would change my center to olajuwon. i think he was the best center of all time. that guy was great offensively and defensively. PG - Magic SG - Jordan SF - Bird PF - Russell C - Olajuwon

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "olskoolFunktitude":</div><div class="quote_post">cant argue with that. youd still keep russell in their though even as a lakers fan?</div> i never bought into that lakers vs. celtics rivalry. i can't stand those fans who are blinded by rivalries. russell was great and the best PF ever in my mind. bird, mchale, and parish were great to watch. all these players have been good for the game and are responsible for making the nba so popular. just look at how many players try to emulate their game today.
