<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Orlando Magic guard Darrell Armstrong was arrested early Monday after being accused of fighting with a police officer outside a nightclub. Armstrong was booked into the Orange County jail on charges of battery on a law-enforcement officer and resisting arrest without violence. He was released after posting $1,000 bond. Armstrong tried to enter a full taxi outside a club and, upset over being denied a ride, he stood in traffic, Orlando police Sgt. Orlando Rolon said. When Officer Theresa Joyce tried to get Armstrong out of the street, he briefly scuffled with her and other officers before being arrested, police said. Joyce severely sprained her thumb while trying to restrain Armstrong, Rolon said. Upon his release, Armstrong admitted slapping the officer's hand away, but said he was provoked. "Don't put your hands on me, that's all I'm saying," said Armstrong, whose shirt had a rip. "I only knocked her hand." Armstrong, 35, a nine-year NBA veteran, is a free agent, and the Magic have not said whether they will try to re-sign him. Armstrong averaged 9.4 points and 3.9 assists in a reserve role last season. "We are just becoming aware of the situation," Magic general manager John Gabriel said. "We know Darrell and we're, obviously, very surprised at the news. We always support our players to the best of our abilities. "But because this is a legal matter at this time, we don't have more to add." Armstrong's agent, Glenn Schwartzman, did not immediately return a phone message, and it could not be immediately determined if Armstrong has a lawyer. </div> fighting with a police officer? what a fool...
now, this is a guy that i can't see doing that. this guy is one of the biggest class act in the whole nba. he made a mistake, he will still sign with the magic.
i don't think that he's gonna leave the team that brought him into the league and that he is very loyal too, it will be weird seeing darell in a new uni, i just can't see him leaving right now.
tru, but the difference is that malone has accomplished a lot and wants a ring and goes to a better team, while darell hasn't accomplished too much, and goes to a shittier team. i just don't understand why darell would go to either of those teams, instead of orlando.
why would darrell go to the cavs or wizards? when he has ALL of his charities and stuff down here. and what fool would rather play with the cavs then the magic.
i don't understand why he would leave orlando. he wouldn't play at cleveland, and he would always get min in orlando.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "truemaster14":</div><div class="quote_post">why cleveland when he can stay in orlando and get his jersey retired?</div> it'd probably be the only place he could get his jersey retired other than his college and hs.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "raptors21":</div><div class="quote_post">he fought a female police officer it was on T.V.</div> hahaha
this is nothing. i'm sure he was provoked, but i don't understand why you would still need to take taxis if you are making millions? hire a personal driver.
It's bad enough that he fought a cop, but a WOMAN??????? I don't know much about Armstrong off the court but he seems like a loose canon.
