hey, do we have this thing all figured out, i wanna know whos in my conference/division...and everytime someone wants to join, we could always either swith them w/ the inconsistent poster or... well this is hard to explain... like this
    this would be a division:

    For example:
    nflfan04
    Giantsfan12004
    Philly_Freak93
    staley22*/MysteryMan

of course* means inactive. and when it comes to be time, well see whos more conisistent and so on... its just hard to find people who will be consistent w/ forums, they get old sometimes and people forget about them...just like anything else

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (blackadder)</div><div class='quotemain'>Are we going to have the same size roster as last year? It was 14 (2 QB's, 3 RB's, 4WR's, 2 TE's, PK, & def) if memory serves.

Won't that be cutting it a little thin given the number of participants we have?

I thought we would have 2 leagues? Have the conferences been determined?

Is there some timeframe for when all this will go down?</div>

I think the roster should be as follows:

    2 QB's
    3 RB's
    4 WR's
    2 TE's
    2 SP/D's
    2 K

That would give us a 15 man roster and in a 16 team draft. Should make it interesting. With 16 teams, we can't really go any deeper. There are only 32 starting QB's, SP/D's, and Kickers. But with bye weeks, it makes it more important to draft good backups. RB's, WR's, and TE's will be more interesting because of the complexity of those positions. If anyone has issue with this system, tough. [IMG]

Sf, in our 18 team money league we did. We made it easier with drafting two of everyone/def. 2 culpeppers were out there etc. We also did team qbs so if daunte went down you would have his backup automatic. In case he went down during the game the person you started who went down would still get the points til the next week.

This helped out someone drafting a scrub qb,rb or kicker, who was unfortnate to be later in the draft. However if their are 2 seperate leagues its not an issue. But if its one league of 32 teams, it helps to have 2 of everything. lol im not trying to plant a seed here [IMG]

Question to you with all these teams, are all these teams gonna be active?

I sure would hate to try and wheel and deal with someone only to find out this person doesnt give a shit about their team and has stopped particpating in our league. Some of the posters that are singed up in the league who make up the 32 teams i notice hasnt posted latley. Hopefully not.

Another thing. We sometimes had a ghost team that everyone in the draft would pick players for if someone didnt show up for draft day. The pride thing is dont get beat by one of the ghost teams. lol lots of time.

    SF,

Are those the starting positions or just what you think you should take in the draft to make up your full roster?

Not to speak for SF, well OK, I am.....that is the whole roster. The starting lineup would be

    1 QB
    2 RB
    2 WR
    1 TE
    1 Def/ST
    1 K

or was one of the RB positions a flex RB/WR position (possible 1 RB / 3 WR run and shoot)? I get confused between my leagues sometimes.

I've said it before (and I think I did here), and I'll say it again (you can count on that)... Let the "owner" of the team decide on its makeup. If I am stupid enough (shhh!) to want six QB's, who's to say I can't draft them? Once you start deciding the makeup of a team, you might as well dictate when they (positions) should be drafted in each round. Then you might as well randomize each round so that the guy who got the 16th best RB still has a shot at the best QB. If I want to stockpile QB's so that the guy who stockpiles RB's wants to trade?... What are you guys, Liberals?

Maybe it's not about stupidity, but about hoarding one position. It's nice to have the structure, and no Chip, we won't tell anyone when to draft what position. That's just silly... [IMG]

Ya But I with chip. You should be able to make your bench up as you see fit.

What are you a caveman? "But I with Chip..." [IMG]

In a 16 team league, there has to be structure. No one can hoard players. If you want to make the RB / WR position on position where you can draft 7 of any combo, I would concede, but I think you should have to carry 2 QB, TE, K, SP/D....

Obviously you have to carry your starting postion players anyone who doesn't will lose but I shouldn't have to draft a back up kicker or def for bye weeks if I don't want to thats all I was saying. In a 16 team league it will be tough to stock pile anything anyways without killing your self cus of the long wait between picks. Like I said before I'll play the rules laid in front of me but thats just how I'm used to playing....although my league isn't 16 teams.

I know that you wouldn't dictate round by round positions, and I know that it is silly. [IMG]

I had a lot to say on this issue, but it occurred to me that these restrictions might only apply to the draft. If that is the case, then the rest will shake itself out. If the restrictions (2-3-4-2-2-2) are for the entire season I can see some potential problems.

So, are you talking about the draft only, or the entire season? [IMG]

They're all valid points Pats. Working the waivers will just be more important if we just have to draft a starting team and then it's open from there. But it sounds like a possibility.

(Insert rough voice saying, "Dead meat!" or Russian voice saying, "I must break you!" here.)

It doesn't really matter. It's just a matter of months before my KC Cougars hoist the Championship trophy again anyways! [IMG]

I barely squeaked by last time. It was sweet winning against a Raider fan. We keep telling them that the AFC West is #1.

I think the 1st "F" stands for fantasy in FFL? Maybe, in some bizarre alternate reality the AFC west is the best but... we all know that the AFC East is the standard bearer in the NFL.

Y'all need to learn the heimlich manuever before you choke on some (red) herring bones.
