    What? You are making no sense.

    There are two differences between Hinrich and Banks vs. Malone.

    1) Malone has been in the league for 17+ seasons
    2) Malone is the 2nd leading scorer all-time

    Yes, there is a reason they retire numbers. However, if the guy who's number is retired wants to let another player wear it...it's his choice, genius.</div>


    my logic is fine. whats the difference if hes been in the leagu 17 years or 17 minutes its still magics number, dick. Its not like jim Loscutoff aksing immediatley not to have his number retired (they just emblazined "loscy" on the banners in boston) so some future player could wear it. why should someone get to disregard history just casue theyre a part of it themselves

    i think Malone should thank him.. but decline. Magic's number was retired for a reason. I doubt he'd want anyone wearing his number in Utah (after or even before it gets retired) , no matter how long they were in the league

    Malone shouldnt wear 32 even if Magic lets him. He should just use a different number.
