Isiah Thomas once backed up dennis rodman in saying "if Larry Bird were Black he'd just be considered another decent ballplayer" meaning the only reason anyone ever thought Larry Bird was anything special was becasue he was white. Thomas clearly thought he was something special so obviously he would think he was better than larry bird but for some reason Bird always got the best of Isiah and his Pistons untill Larry got hurt and just wasnt Larry anymore. Well its funny how things turn out as Isiah Thomas must be chewing prety hard on his novelty "malcom X" pillow tonight as Larry Bird, is his new boss. thats right. Larry Bird has been named the president of the indiana pacers basketball operations and he controls the fate of thomas whos on a thin string anyway. How hilarious would it be if Bird ends up giving Thomas his Pink Slip> "sorry isiah, youre fired." i think that might kill isiah or at least make him chnage his obnoxious facial expression for once
Dennis Rodman was serious about it, Thomas was joking about it more than he was serious, but it's still a pretty damned stupid remark. I remember the first time that that event become known to me was through some late night movie I saw on cable that chronicled hte life of Dennis Rodman. *edit* and the news of Bird in the front office was released a couple days ago. A thread was made of if in the off-season movement forum when it was announced.
well this ones funnyer. and thomas wasnt being that tounge and cheek. i did try to put himself on a level with bird and jordan and was bitter because he couldnt reach it. how funny would it be if bird ends up firing thomas
exactly but itd become such a bigger deal thatn that in thomas head. u think he realizzes what a lousy coach he is?
Probably not. Either way, this whole Larry/Isiah thing is no big deal. I don't see anything drastic happening between them this season atleast.
i didnt say that but i think its perfect poetic justice. Itl be very amusing when bird fires thomas ecxept to isiah but sure he cna smile about that too. so goddamn ironic
i dont isaih was serious its just a joke ,if bird fired him ,it wouldnt be good for him,you dont fire people for personal reasons only if there not doing well with the team altough it will be an awkward situation for the two of them,if thomas meant it
i think that one bad thing that thomas does he'll get fired, bird just needs a reason to get thomas fired.
I already see the outcome.. I think what Bird Man would do is see if Isiah can get out of the 1st round and if he gonna be like Vince McMahon...."YOU'RE FIRED!!!!"
The fact that Rick Carlisle is still on the market for a coaching job puts Thomas' job at even more risk.

detroit shouldn't fired him, if he's avaliable next season and the magic struggle to get out of the 1st round again, he'll coach the magic.
i wouldtn be surprised to see him coach the pacers. larry bird played with him on the celtics so he knows he has a great basketball head on his shoulders. Carlisle is also a great character guy who could teach some of their little wanna-be thugs some compusure
i dont buy that for a second. carlisles always been a great character guy and he is a great coach. they fired him for a shot at larry brown who as an even bigger ego
