people overstate the significance of the shortened year.. the main point is the spuirs still had to win all the playoff games to win a championship. they still had to beat the best teams in the league in playoff serieses. your arguement might have some merit if there was a chance the spurs wouldnt have made the postseason if they had played the full 82 games but if u think that youre just in denial

What's wrong with calling it an asterisk season? Asterisks denote a change from what usually happens. A 50 game season is a change from an 82 game season, right? It shouldn't stand for anything bad, it's just Laker fans who try to make it that way.

at least shaq has a sense of humour and is entertaining, unlike boring tim duncan. the lowest ratings in the HISTORY of the NBA Finals. i think they had a lower score than the westminster dog show.

shaq was right about the queens and he will be right about the spurs this season. the window is shut on the spurs and the rest of the league.

Hey- why don't you speak proper English buddy?
Well I guess I can't really post that quote now, but after next year you will all see who the real best team is.

    ah but he will.

let me remind you, against the spurs the PFs we had were samaki walker, mark madsen and a completely-off-rhythm robert horry. none of these guys could hit a shot. so if you were TD and the man you were guarding couldn't hit an outside shot? hell, i'd camp out as close to the middle as possible.

that's exactly what he did. TD camped out in the middle, completely denying shaq anything in the post and also giving a very strong inside presence when kobe got past bowen.

but with a midrange-shooter like malone, TD won't have that luxury anymore. also, the spurs lost their bigman in DRob....the frontcourt looks quite small to me...it must look really really small for shaq now...

and i agree, kobe didn't always win the matchup against bowen...but now kobe doesn't have to be the only playmaker/initiator on the floor...we got payton.

Annihilated? If Horry had made a shot he usually makes, Shaq would be holding another trophy right now. Boy, you Spurs fans get cocky after just one good year...</div>

IF horry made that shot, but he didn't make it, so what your saying doesn't make sense. After one good year? actually it was after a great year and its not like wining a championship is so new to the spurs, remember '99?</div>

i remember 99 cuz then the lakers went on their tear and won 3 and put the spurs back in their place.

[IMG] werd..... [IMG] duncan is so borin....he sits there and waits for the ball and when he dunks he has no authority...like shaq he may do the same thing every time but he makes it interesting...and kobe outplayed bowen by far....kobe made bowen look good on defense becuz his shoulder was injured...

Yeah I guess Bowen always won the matchups. Didn't Kobe average above 32ppg in the playoffs? Didn't he go for 40+ against Bowen in February?! I guess Bowen really stopped him.. Too bad he had to hack and use Duncan as a backstop. Also I will bring up Kobe's injured shoulder.

Bowen is like DC They're both all about defense and can go cold on offense.

if there are any landslides id say glove over parker...parkers offence isnt that great that it can get past glove's d, and glove will take him in the post all day and night...plus glove is a crafty vet, and as mature as parker seems...hes still got light years to go before he can step up to GP.

and i thought bowen (as much as i hate him) played kobe really well in the playoffs...kobe shot a horrible percentage...he got d'd up pretty well i thought

yea, agreed, however this is now not in a couple years...glove still has it, if they were to go head to head in a game or one on one, my money is on glove all the way. in 3 or 4 years, id put money on parker...but for next season, i like gary

plus...lets not forget, we have yet to see parker play without tim duncan...duncan is like kidd...he makes players better...christ, he turned bowen into a shooter, so it would be interesting to see how good parker was on a duncanless team.
