Sega is making a play for a piece of the football video game market by offering ESPN NFL 2K5 at a crazy $19.99....My questions for you guys: 1.Would you consider it instead of Madden 2005 because of the price? 2.Will EA lower the price of Madden 2005 to compete? 3.Is it a desperate measure taken by a sinking ship of a football franchise?
I just hope this makes EA lower their price but I think EA is smart enough to realize the Madden has a cult following that can't be broken by a cheaper video game. I won't even look at the ESPN game and I do think it is a desperate move. For the most part you get what you pay for in Video Games / Electronics.
Yeah, Madden is right around the corner and I can't wait to see the changes. I will pay $49.95, it doesn't bother me in the least. I will be buying NCAA College Football 2005 in less than 2 weeks. I'm hoping that will curb me until Aug. 11th when Madden comes out. I really like this time of year. The anticipation is better than Christmas when you were a kid!
I hear ya it but I'm not sure I would say it's better than christmas as a kid but it certainly is christmas for adults!! I never really got into the college game but I might get it this year but I hate cause I don't follow college enough so with no names I'm lost and don't they have last years players in it?
Pats, I don't watch College football at all. But let me just tell you that when you buy this game, play it in dynasty mode, recruit your first class, you will be addicted. Recruiting is more fun than the draft. Trust me on this! It's amazing.
When does it come out? I'll def check it out then cus I love just doing fantasy draft after fantasy draft on Madden.
I think it's July 13th? Games always come out on Tuesday's. I think it comes out a week from Tuesday... I could be wrong, but I'm almost positive. I recommend anyone who likes football games to check it out. The recruiting is off the hook.
The website I just looked at has the release date as 7/12, so only 10 days... Make sure if you get it you let me know what you think. Maybe we can get a game online if you think you're up for it!

At this point it doesnt matter how much madden is over a game that is 19 dollars. I would still spend the extra to play the best football game in video games, since techmo bowl. "Madden 05" I difintley think that sega is going downhill with their games, so merging with espn's games would be a move to make as much as they can before the sinking ship goes down.
Do you know if you can play X-box live without a computer as long as you have digital cable and you get a cable modem through comcast?
I'm up for some games online. I havent bought NCAA game since 2000 with Ricky Williams on the cover. I'm hoping for some vast upgrades since then. And sorry Pats, also a PS2 guy here.
Glenso, it's been a good transformation from that version and this year promises nothing less than spectacular upgrades. We'll definitely have to get some games.
Will Buy Madden! May or may not check out $19.99 game. Some things are just worth the extra money! Now you guys are making me want to get a copy of NCAA Football. (I'm not made of money!)
BF1 and I have a running agreement, he buys NCAA and I buy Madden...then we can recruit up some stud players, play thier whole college careers, import thier draft class into Madden, draft them, and play thier whole pro careers....the replay value is excellent if you have both games....
