Gooden has not proved to be a good scorer...howard won't be either..only way both get 16 PPG each is if..mcgrady takes his average down to 26/27..but we will know he won't want to do that....you said mcgrady has no help..then why in your mind magic have good scorers? if there offence was so good...why then does mcgrady have no so-called help? you changed your tune alot....

[IMG] how else do they do it? it is done on how many points the players score....what do you think it's done by? how many chips each player eats? [IMG]

i know, but i'm just saying that's still a lot of offense for one team. the Mavs' roster doesn't put up numbers like that as a whole

The scoring system goes on how many points your team scores each game. they dont average up all the players numbers and say thats how much they average

True...but the the amount of points your players score in each game means they will average alot more than alot of people think..so you actually think the magic players will average this

    Tmac- 34 ppg
    Howard- 16 ppg
    Gooden- 15 ppg
    Giricek- 12 ppg
    Garrity-10-11 ppg
    Gaines- 8 ppg
    Lue-7 ppg
    Declerq- 7 ppg
    Hunter- 6 ppg
    Sasser-4 ppg
    Zaza- 3 ppg
    Bogans- 2 ppg

That list is like laker fans saying... this

    Kobe 32
    Shaq 29
    Payton 19
    Malone 20
    george 13
    Fisher 9

see how stupid that is? no way L.A average those numbers...just like with the magic

^^exactly, but what they are trying to tell you is based on your scoring averages the magic would average 124ppg

i think the magic will be lucky to average 100ppg for the entire season.

So the Magic will improve their scoring by 25.5 points in one season because they added Juwan Howard?!

They averaged 98.5 ppg last season.

[IMG] thats not the way it works....

Thats like saying..wolves averaged 98 this year..they add in cassell,kandi,spree..and they will average...149....so it does not work that way..

actually they averaged 98.5ppg last year.

remember every shot those guys take is less shots for t-mac. so unless they play better defense and get more shot attempts or they shoot a higher fg% as a team, the magic will not score any more than 98.5ppg.

the magic were near the bottom in fg% with .436 ranking 22 out of 29 teams.

they averaged 82.5 shots per game, which was one of the highest ranking 7 out of 29 teams.

the 4 teams who averaged 100ppg last season, lakers, kings, mavs, & warriors all shot over 44% with about the same amount of shot attempts.

so the key for the magic will be improving their shot selection and shooting a higher percentage if they want to average 100ppg.

after the trade for gooden the magic averaged 101.5ppg for 27 games. so they have a good shot at one of the top scoring teams, possibly 5th, behind kings, mavs, lakers, & twolves.

^^well players get injured all the time and most don't play 82 games anyways so him missing games isn't relevant and mcgrady scored in the high 30's and low 40's during most of those games to make up for gooden's absence.

I've got a question for you Truemaster, how do you expect the Magic to be able to stop anyone with that lineup? Will Gooden play the 3? Gooden can not play against a good SF effectively.
