I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the running back situation in Minnesota? You guys have a great 3-headed monster. Will all of their numbers suffer for the good of the team? Or will Bennett reclaim his position as the number one guy? Someone will be gone after this season and Smith is so young, I can't imagine it will be him. I'm actually surprised Minnesota didn't shop Williams more now. Any inside info Vikingfan?

The word around here is that Smith and Bennett will compete for the starting job with Bennett getting the preference. Williams will remain a short-yardage option and a veteran backup. Out of all of those I really like Williams, but he could not last the whole season because of his running style. Even if he could avoid a tackle by side-stepping it, he would rather lower his shoulder. Smith is going to be a great back, but its hard to give up the big-yard potential of Bennett. I personally want to see Bennett win the job.
Well you danced around that nicely VF! Bennett will be your guy, but I'm sure you won't have all 3 on your roster next season. Smith is going to push Bennett for playing time....
The Vikings have a habit of keeping more than 1 quality back. More than anything, though, I can see them trading whatever back doesn't do as well this season. I hope Bennett stays...he's more of a team player. Smith suffers from a constant dislocated shoulder from patting himself on the back so much.
