Great signing by the Wizards..GS have 15 days to match but they are over the cap...they will need to trade like 3 players away..but they won't do that....they have already started going after speedy

Even if they wanted to it is too late he has signed the offer sheet...clippers offered over 60 million..jazz didn't bother in the end..GS wanted him but could only offer the MLE

I thought the Warriors should've traded down and got Barbosa in the draft, instead they take a Jason Richardson clone and it isn't exactly paying off.

    That's great news for wizards!!!!!!!

Gilbert is about ot break out into a star i truly believe he will be an all-star and the franchis players for the wizards for yrs. to come. Hez very underrated too he averaged 18 and 7.3 assists but didn't get talked bout. Wizards now truely have a shot for the play-offs!!!

    PG - Gilbert Arenas/STEVE BLAKE
    SG - Jerry Stackhouse/JUAN DIXON/Larry Huges
    SF - Jarvis Hayes
    PF - Kwame Brown/Etan Thomas
    C - Haywood/Lattnear

looks like a good team 4 me well a good team in the weak east!!!

too bad..i loved the team golden state were building..they should have cleared up cap space for him...bench players can always be filled, the starting rotation they had is a team to build around...they had all the pieces to the puzzle imo...specially with the development of troy murphy and j rich.

I still think that the warriors are a scary team... remember, they still have antawn, jrich, and troy murphy. they drafted mickael pietrus. jiri welsch and especially mike dunleavy look to have breakout years. add the signing of speedy claxton, i would say that the warriors have not really lost a lot, as i expect speedy to be a good fit for the warriors.

Speedy isn't the most dependable person to stay healthy in a season so that has to be a concern. Drafting Pietrus was a big mistake because he is basically a JRich clone and with Jiri, Dunleavy, and possibly Logan the Warriors have a bit of a clog at the 2/3 spots without having a great PG. I think the Warriors have taken a considerable step back in making their way into the playoffs unless they somehow find a way to match, but it's already been said that the Warriors have conceeded Arenas to the Wiz.

that means they'll have two undersized point guards.. Speedy and Boykins. i agree with dj_premium_plus. the Warriors weren't in playoff contention because of their bench players. it was their starters. the bench contributed, but they could be replaced

i hate this decision by arenas and by golden state. the warriors had the opportunity to dump fortson or dampier to other teams, but they didn't pull the trigger. so by being passive they lost out on a great young talent and the chance to build a young nucleus with arenas, j-rich, & jamison. the warriors should have matched the offer and just pay the luxury tax to keep him in golden state. speedy claxton helps a little, but the warriors were heading in the right direction for the first time in along time. this is going to haunt the franchise just like when they got rid of webber and spree.

i was hoping arenas would end up in clipperland and not washington. the clippers have a similar style to the warriors and they would have been very exciting with him. they would have challenged for the 8th seed and would only get better as a group in the next 2 or 3 years. washington is cluttered with guards. dixon, blake, stack, hughes ... arenas just joins the logjam in washington.
