Robert Horry signs with Spurs... http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/mld/ledgere...rts/6361274.htm <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Free agent forward Robert Horry has reached a verbal agreement for a one-year contract with the San Antonio Spurs, according to a Houston television station. Horry, who turns 33 in August, may sign a contract with the defending NBA champions on Wednesday, KRIV reports. Spurs spokesman Tom James didn't immediately return a message left by The Associated Press on Tuesday night. Horry spent 6 1/2 seasons with the Lakers and helped them win three consecutive NBA championships. But he struggled last season, averaging 6.5 points and missing 36 of 38 3-pointers in the postseason. His last 3-point miss, at the end of Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against San Antonio, would have given the Lakers a victory and a lead in the series. Instead, the Lakers lost and the Spurs went on to win the NBA title. During Horry's 11-year NBA career, he has been on five NBA championship teams, including two with the Houston Rockets. </div> Hmm, well this a least adds to the good Spurs bench, I guess.
This is great for the Spurs and for Horry. It's too bad he isn't going to re-sign with the Lakers, but with Malone aboard and their rookie, pf, Cook there isn't much need for him anymore. This is a great situation for Horry because he has plenty of experience to offer the Spurs and will help on the defensive end. He also gets to spend more time with his sick daughter now by being in Texas. Good luck to Robert Horry (the Laker spy...muahahaha!)
Why do you say that? He will provide great veteran leadership now that Robinson is gone, and will be a good force off the bench.
He would have been on the bench for the Lakers also, so it's the same situation. Plus, he only signed one year and maybe the Lakers will wan't him back.
yea.. he had a lot to do with the Lakers and their team chemistry. maybe this will effect the Lakers more than we think (i doubt it though)
i'm happy for robert! good for horry! he may win a game or 2 for spurs--hopefully none will be against lakers, but i think largely his time has passed at being a major force in the playoffs! i'm happy for him, cause now he'll be closer to his invalid daughter (who has some debilitating illness)!! WHAT LAKER FAN CAN EVER FORGET HIS 3-POINTER AT THE BUZZER TO BEAT KINGS IN 2002 WEST FINALS?!? I WATCHED IT AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES DURING "03 PLAYOFFS---PURE ADRENALIN!!!

Thanx for the memories Big Shot Rob..too bad you had to sign with the enemy. But I guess it's all a business. You'll see how wrong you were when Shaq puts one down over ya.
