campbell only averaged 3.2 rebounds last season so hes not a great rebounder. dont even say look at his career stats or his stats 2 years ago because you even said it yourself "career stats are misleading"
Check how many damn minutes he played per game...only 12 minutes per game at seattle...and 16 at the hornets....what do you expect? his numbers would bound to go down....give him 20 minutes he will have no problem getting 10 and 6...whenever he got court time he produced...
pistons should have went after vlad stephania he averaged 7 boards in 20 minutes. and he doesent cry to the officials
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It was a signing not a trade.</div> Your point...wow, I messed up! In 12 minutes he averaged 3 points, so in 20 he'll get around 6.
No he averaged 6 in 12 minutes...and close to 8 in 15 minutes at hornets..given court time he should be a 10 and 6 with no problem
campbell is a great pickup for the pistons. he has playoff experience and is one of the few players who actually steps up his game in the post season. he gives the pistons more size and the pistons won't lose the shot blocking presence when ben needs to rest or gets in foul trouble.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dj_premium_plus:</div><div class="quote_post">ben needs help because hes the only one on the team bringin down the boards</div> I agree.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Vintage:</div><div class="quote_post">Darko's PT will be minimal. Detroit is a team trying to compete for a ring. Milicic is a 17 year old rookie. Detroit made it to the ECF w/o Darko, and are looking on the verge of it again. Darko is a young kid from overseas. Notice a small problem? Detroit did the right thing in drafting Darko. He is a low post scoring threat(as he was in Europe). But he wont have an immediate impact over here. His defense will dictate whether or not he will earn PT. And the key word is "earn." Detroit is in the position to bring Darko along slowly. Remember, this isn't a lottery team(like most high picks end up on). They can afford to do this. Will Darko get PT? Most likely. But remember, as of now, Okur, Wallace, Campbell, Williamson, Robinson(if kept) are all ahead of him on the depth chart. Because Detroit is trying to make the playoffs, they wont simply hand PT over to Darko, especially if they think it has a chance of hurting their chances at HCA in the playoffs. Id expect Darko to get 10mpg. Before any of you gasp, remember this, there are 96 minutes slotted at the 4/5. Darko isn't good enough defensively to guard opposing 3's yet. Detroit is known for its defense, and Darko is better at defending 4's/5's(4's ideally as a rookie). 96 minutes between the 4/5 -35 minutes for Wallace ------ 61 minutes -25 minutes for Campbell --------- 36 minutes -20 minutes for Okue ------- 16 minutes - 6 minutes at PF for Williamson(who will get a majority at SF, but still get some at PF) ---- 10 minutes for Darko.</div> I think you are right on this one in a way. After all the Pistons have the time to wait on Darko for a few years as he matures and adapts to the NBA style of play. I can see those numbers that you mentioned at the start of the season however as the season progresses, I think we will see Darko get more then ten minutes a night. Granted, he wont get minutes like Cambell or Wallace but I believe by years end he will be averaging around 15-20 minutes a game. It is just hard for me to think that he will only get 10 minutes at the end of the year. He just seems to have too much talent not to get some respectable PT time. People last year thought Yao would almost barely play during the season but by years end he was getting some very good minutes for a rookie big man from China. Lets remember though that Pistons have alot better low post talent then the Rockets did last year when Yao was drafted. So, all in all, I think he will start out getting around 10 minutes a game but as the season progresses, I will look for those numbers to increase twofold.
