    Nuggets land Andre Miller.....

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Nuggets signed Miller, a restricted free-agent with the Los Angeles Clippers, to a six-year, $51 million dollar offer sheet on July 16. Because of Miller’s restricted free-agent status, the Clippers had 15 days to match the offer. But on the Clippers’ deadline day, Miller’s agent Lon Babby told The Denver Post he received a call from the Clippers this morning stating they did not plan to match the offer.

Also stephen Jackson met with the Nuggets today about maybe playing for them next season

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">San Antonio Spurs free-agent swingman Stephen Jackson is scheduled to visit the Nuggets today in Denver.

Jackson averaged 11.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 28.2 minutes last season for the NBA champions. The 6-foot-8, 220-pounder ranked 18th in the NBA in steals (125) and started in 58 of 80 games.

Fegan said Jackson also would visit the Utah Jazz on Friday and the Atlanta Hawks early next week. The Nuggets' roster includes shooting guards Rodney White, Vincent Yar- brough and Jeff Trepagnier.

"It's a great fit for (the Nuggets)," Fegan said. "Stephen has proven he can knock down big shots. If the Nuggets get (point guard) Andre (Miller), he becomes a great fit."

Not only that..Nuggets offered a contract to GSW back-up PG Earl Boykins

    Those nuggets are looking good...

i agree, he will defenetely help carmello out a lot. carmello won't have to set up all of his shots, since miller will set them up for him.

Get Real!!!! I heard the exact same thing from people when he left the Cavs and was shipped to the Clippers. Last season he made those people who compared him to Jason look like fools. Last season Andre averaged 13.6 ppg, 6.7 apg, 4.0 rpg and 1.24 spg in 80 games for the Clippers. Those are not Jason type numbers by any means. Face it, Andre will never be a great PG like Kidd. He is good he just not at the level that Jason is at. If anyone, the next person that could possibly turn out to be a great player that plays like Jason would be TJ Ford. They both have very similar styles of play. Ford is an unproven rookie so he might not never get to the level Kidd is at.

Now, adding Andre will help out Carmelo alot. He will be a threat to opposing defenses and take some of the focus off of Carmelo. Andre and Carmelo might turn out to be a good two person duo in Denver for many years. For the Nuggets sake, lets hope he can rebound from his bad year in LA.

But the LA season was a whole different type of atmosphere. You had Kandi, who said he didn't want to be there, Maggette saying everyone was trying to pad their stats to raise their salary demands, and DTS saying nothing to alleviate the problem.

It was hardly Millers fault. It was a horrible environment. Andre is out of that now. He will post similar numbers as he did in Cleveland. That is the Andre Miller we all will see. The LAC one was stuggling bec. of the environment, partly created by DTS.

Miller is a great signing for the Nuggets. Gives them a good PG to pair up with Carmelo. Its the best thing for Carmelo........a pass first PG who excels in setting his teammates up. This will make Carmelo's transition easier.

Andre will average somewhere in the 15/9 area. Similar number-wise to Kidd(minus the rebounding numbers.......where Kidd is unbelievable at for a PG)........and thats where the comparisons come in.........people just look at the numbers........when in reality, Kidd is better in the open court, and can struggle in the 1/2 court. Miller seems to be better in the 1/2 court. Kidd is also the superior defender.

The numbers might be similar however, I dont like the Kidd comparisons because of the leadership skills difference in those two.. A great PG can turn around a team and lead them to victory night in and night out. Kidd has proven that he can single handedly turned a team around(NJ). Andre has yet to prove that. Once he proves that he can single handedly turn around/lead a team then I will accept the Kidd comparisons and consider him a great PG.

Yeah.........I agree. They will have similar numbers, but that doesn't mean they are similar players.

But in defense of Andre.......in Cleveland.....what did he have to work with? Davis? Remember, he didn't light it up to last year. Andre had the Ricky Davis 20ppg for one month(the last month, he started to show good signs).

Before that he was working with Jumaine Jones, Tyrone Hill, etc. Hardly competant starters.

Jefferson, Martin are superior to the aforementioned players. So Andre never really had a good supporting cast around him.

In LA, he did. But that atmosphere was total trouble. True, Andre should have shown more leadership, but remember, he was new to the team......it wasn't his team. I think Denver will be a better situation, and we'll get to see what kind of player Andre truly is. He will have more talent around him than he did in Cleveland(with Anthony, White, Hilario).

My guess is that we see the same Andre as we did in Cleveland.

Man, the Nuggets are starting to look pretty good. Melo, Andre, Jackson, Hilario, and someone at center. That's not too shabby.

I think this is a HUGE move for the Nuggets to make, putting Miller at the point is really going to help their game. With Hilario working in the paint, and 'Melo with that huge jab step of his i think this team is really going to take a jump from their position last year.

I think the line up will be:
    pg-miller
    sg-white
    sf-melo
    pf-nene
    c-camby

Not to bad. I just dont think rodney white is good tho.

I think the Nuggets are going to try and plug in Skeeta at center. That's a pretty solid lineup, but they don't have that superstar yet that can carry the team and get them far. Can't blame them though because the average age of the team is 23.

Skita is around the 240 mark. Thats too slight to be a center in the West.

He will likely be moved to the PF spot, much like Gasol in Memphis.

In all likelyhood, the Nuggets will open up with a starting lineup of
    C Camby
    PF Hilario
    SF Anthony
    SG White
    PG Miller

White and Anthony are interchangeable. Camby is their best option to start alongside Hilario.

Denver will be building to the future of a
    C Hilario
    PF Tskitishvili
    SF Anthony
    SG White
    PG Miller

    lineup.....

But not now. Skita is still very raw. He was 19 last season. He isn't ready to start. Imagine the thought of him going up against the likes of Duncan, Webber, Wallace, Garnett, etc. He would get eaten alive.

He has a long way to go before he he starts.
