i would have to pick the bulls vs. jazz as the top rivalry in the last decade.

I'm sorry but the Knicks/Heat rivalry was horrible in my opinion. Sure it was good for a fight or two, but the actual BASKETBALL played was horrible. Sure there were close games, but the games being close doesn't mean it's good basketball. My personal favorite over the last few years has been the Lakers/Kings because the quality of the games have been great and they trade insults verbally and physically (see: Christie and Fox). The Jazz and Bulls are very close because they played back to back NBA Finals and the battles with Rodman and Malone were awesome and funny, especially when it extended to even the WCW.

No. Knicks VS Heat was an excellent rivalry. The reason you didn't like it is because there were no flashy alley oops, but that doesnt mean that the basketball was bad. Theres a difference between ugly and bad. I admit some games were ugly, this was due to the tight defence as coach Van Gundy and Riley are very enthusiastic with thier teams D. This meant that there were few dunks (apart from spree's interception ones), and more fundamental, traditional basketball. THIS lead to heeps of close games which were always intence and enjoyable to watch, especially in the last games of the series. AND the Knicks always got the best of the Heat.. which made it even better to watch.. so knicks vs heat may not be the best.. but it was far from a bad rivalry.. another one of my favourites to watch are the Knicks vs Pacers and the Lakers VS Blazers.. im looking forward to seeing a huge west coast rivalry this season.. dunno who it will be but there will be plenty of action between Wolves, Lakers, Spurs, Kings and Mavericks

I think Bulls/Jazz was the most intense, then Blazers/Lakers or Kings/Lakers. Is it just me or do all Pacific Division teams hate the Lakers?

I think the best rivalry was WAY back, when Boston/Lakes would go at it. Watching Bird and Magic go head to head was just awsome! good times, good times.

since there are barely any good rivalries in the east now, the pistons/magic should be good, but shouldn't be even close to considered one of the best.

Ok thanks for telling me what I DON'T think. Now maybe we can move on to what I do think, which was that the "rivalry" was filled with sloppy basketball and two teams who struggle just to score 90-95 points. It was horrible basketball quality.

celtics/phill and celtics/lakers are among the best rivalrys of all time but the celtics wernt good enough in the 90's to have any real rivalrys.

lakers/sac ahs only gone on for a couple of years so that isnt the best. i think Bulls/Pacers was actually a very heated and very exiting rvialry

knicks and heat really isnt that great a rivalry. especially now that both teams are in the same toilet. they can fight all they want. but no one cares
