Who in your mind is the top 5 most underrated players currently playing in the NBA? ...

#5 - Andre Miller - Miller runs the point like he's got somethin to prove. He's a great passer that can come up with the shots when he needs to. I think he's gonna be a great addition to Denver.

#4 - Gilbert Arenas - after this past year, Arenas has made people respect his game and given reasons why he's signing a new 7mill/year contract.

#3 - Tyson Chandler - I think the young bigman definitely has the ability to get the job done. While he's still getting his feet wet in this league, i think with a bit of time, he's going to be an excellent agile player with the Bulls.

#2 - Stephan Jackson/Alvin Williams - SJAX is a scorer flat out. He's been to more teams and more leagues then an alcoholic has AA meetings. I think he could be a legitimate 15ppg scorer if given the minutes and respect.
A-WILL - boogie williams has got the ability to get the job done, but is shelled into the PG position in Toronto, if we could move him to the 2 and get a decent point, he would be even better then he is. Time and time again he hits those driving floaters that coaches hate, and he has possibly the meanest quiet cross-over in the league.

#1 - Ray Allen - Good 'ol Jesus Shuttlesworth has been the backbone and proven all-star for the Milwaukee bucks since the day he got off the train. He's been the go to guy every time and has proven why he wants the rock outside the arc. In his nine year run in the NBA, hes held a huge 20ppg, 5boards and 4 dimes a game. Not too shabby for the NBA's quietest all-star.

I would say Alvin is very underrated . He improves every year. I also think Jamison is underrated. I also think Jermaine O neal does nt get enough credit for what he does i think hes a top ten player.

He's a much better rebounder than his numbers indicate. he plays on a good rebounding team with a lot of guys who can get the job done. thats why he's so underrated. he's a dependable go-to rebounder and a very underrated scorer. on a team like say, the celtics or one of the weakest rebounding teams in the leaguue he would absolutley be a 20 10 guy.

a curious case is Antoine Walker. a lot of people say he's overrated, but so many people rag on him and dont give him credit for the value he has that some times it seems like hes very underrated. i guess it just depends on who u r talking to

he always has been and will get better especially if the rest of his team drops off. he's better than a lot of guys who get more rebounds cause theyre teams cant rebound. jamison is one of the most underrated players in the league.

who r your top 5 allnet and remember u can only put up to 5 pistons on that list [IMG]

How is Alvin Williams underrated? He just isn't that good. Stephen Jackson is a good third option, maybe a second option. Tyson Chandler? Underrated? He's going into his third year in the league from high school. No one has called him a bust and no one has called him a star. I don't even think anyone has rated him because he is too young. Andre Miller had a downyear so people had the right to knock on his game somewhat. People realize Gilbert Arenas is one of the brightest future stars at PG, don't know how he is underrated. Ray Allen is a good choice I think, however people are aware of his capabilities. His slashing game is what is underrated.

Jamison isn't underrated. He is starting to camp out on the perimete too much now thinking that he is an actual threat from there. Dribbling and Jamison are possibly the worst combination since oil and water. He isn't that great of a rebounder, but he is sufficient enough. If anyone on the Warriors is underrated it's Troy Murphy.

i think Jaimison is a decent rebounder. GS had him at SF a lot, and considering his size, 7rpg in the west is more than decent. my underrated list really got skewed in the past year. the front runner was mike bibby, but he got his huge contract and BOOM had a bad season. here it goes in no particular order:
    Rip Hamilton
    Ray Allen
    Malik Rose
    Donyell Marshall

5 - Antawn Jamison. his scoring and rebounding
4 - Ron Artest. u can hate him all u want but he's the best defender in the league and a remarkably underrated scorer.
3 - Ray Allen. he may not be up with kobe/pierce/tmac/iverson but he isnt far as u think
2 - Bonzi Wells - much more than a depth player. hes going to get better too.
1 - Pau Gasol - he's already a 19 and 9 guy (career average of 8.85 which is closer to 9 than to 8) and is only in his second year. people really forget about him but he could be a franchise player before too long

Considering the fact that Troy Murphy is the PF, Jamison has to play SF. He doesn't have SF skills though and prefers to play PF. Murphy is too good to keep on the bench in place of Jamison so why not just put both in the starting lineup. Also Jamison is roughly the same size as Kenyon Martin (10 pounds lighter, same height) so he isn't undersized, especially considering that he plays SF. Also being that height and weight gives him an advantage when rebounding against his defensive matchup. He still isn't that great of a rebounder though. Jamison is a real good scorer so I'll give him that much credit.

Olskool: Kenyon Martin did better than Jamison in rebounds, blocks, steals, is a better man to man defender (does Jamison play defense?), and played five less minutes a game (39.3 to 34.1). In the playoffs, the highest stage of NBA play in both intensity and importance, Martin averaged 38.9 MPG which is closer to what Jamison played. He then managed to blow Jamison out of the water statistically (except points, but Martin did go up from 17 to 19). So where's the love for Kenyon

if u think Kmart is better than antawn jamison youve never whatched either of them play. it just goes to show how overrated kmart is and how underrated tjamison is. Kmart had SLIGHTLY more rebounds. but hes his teams go to rebounder and is seen as one of the most athletic players in the game. Jamison is a better rebounder in key situations. hes more agressive even if the stats dont show it. the stats also dont show the great difference in scoring ability. Jamison only outscored kmart by about 5 points a game this year but half of kmarts points are a direct result of kidds play. hes not a go to scorer. cant take over games. cant carry his team like Jamison can. Jamison scored 50 in a game twice in a row. Kmarts career high is 35. nuff said

Well I do think Kenyon is a better all-around player than Jamison and believe me I've seen them both play. This isn't a topic to get into another Kenyon Martin war and my previous comment was meant more as a joke than anything.
