<div class="quote_poster">Quoting slamduncan21:</div><div class="quote_post">last year, we didn't really have America's best out there. over half the guys you listed on that roster weren't on last years team</div>Who's fault was that? Those players who don't want to play in the World Championship won't want to play in an All-Star game. They will fake an injury, decline the invitation, or play with no heart because those are the players with no class or character.

As Spree was saying, a USA vs. World summer league game would be nice. Of course not even a fourth of the players I listed on the USA list would show up, but it would be just as entertaining to see the mediocre USA guys like Rashard Lewis and Richard Jefferson take on Peja and Dirk.

Yes, the mediocre players would be entertaining somewhat. But someone mentioned that the best of the best would be good, I think not.

The best of the American team verses the best of the European team, I stated this above in my other posts.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dexter:</div><div class="quote_post">I dont like thie idea of having the All-Star game be the USA vs. the World. There is definertly a stong eurpoean and african influence on the game, however I just dont see this game as very exciting. The US would completly dominate the game from start to finish. There just isnt enough good players on the world's team to even give them a chance. So for right now, I say no to having a US vs. the World All-Star Game.</div>

No way, incase you forgot you got 6th. The USA have the best players but they can't play a team game at all. A team full of US Superstars just wouldn't get on with each other and there would be to much individual play. It should be a close game depending on how USA plays as a team, if they don't the International team should win without any kind of challenge. If it doesn't work out now, it will in a couple of years, the gap between USA and the rest of the world is closing....fast.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Spartanfan2003:</div><div class="quote_post">I think that the international players would take it seriously and the American players wouldn't. Like in the World Championship games last year. If America's best can be beaten by one other countries best then why can't America's best be beaten by every other countries best?</div>

America took that game off-guard adn thought it would be a blowout in their favor. I guarentee that will never happen again in International competition or in a game that is like the All-Star game. These guys like to win and they dont want to be embarrased, especially at the all-star game.

Duncan would play for the US team as he was born in the Virgin Islands which is a US territory.

If you ever watched the Olympics, the Dream Teams have always played like a team and completely dominated the world. Our stars can play together as a team if they want to.There are a ton of ego's but one thing about them is that they hate to be embarrased. Thats why we have done so well in international competition (minus last years mistake). They hate to get beat by a foreign team. The have some amzing pride for the US of A and in a game where they are representing the US, they play like a team and represent their country well, and when they do, they can beat any team in the world.

^^^^^The Dream team is a thing of the past, and team USA would need a lot of practise to actually play a good team game. The USA team are a team of chamions, not a champion team. It looks really bad when they are behind and each player thinks it's up to him to change that.
