This is another hot topic that I thought I would bring back up. Do you think the NBA should eliminate fan voting for the All-Star Game? I think they should. In Jason Kidd's MVP year he was benched behind McGrady and Iverson. And Ming was voted to start over Shaq this year. Not to mention every year an injured player such as Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, or Vince Carter is chosen to start on the All-Star team.

I dont know if it should be elimated but...

The general NBA knowledge pool consists of (to put it blunty)... generic idiots... they base their knowledge on how well a player dunks or how cool he is and not by the stuff that really matters

We might see are fav. hyped player Lebron James starting over Jason Kidd next year...

I think that it is certain that the guard lineup in the East next season will look like this -

    SG - Allen Iverson/Tracy McGrady
    PG - LeBron James/Jason Kidd

The game's two most popular players stealing the glory from two of the leagues best players.

yeah, which would stink, because tmac deserves it way over lebron. i actually think though that with the show tmac's put on the last 2 years, that he would be starting sg to play besides lebron at pg.

They are for the fans, but when a player used to be voted as an All-Star it said a lot more than, "the fans like you". It used to mean that you were one of the best players.

If it was all about the fans then they should rename it the NBA's Fan Appreciation Game.

It shouldn't be eliminated, if anything the fan votes should count as 50%. The other 50% should be decided by the players from around the league, or by a selection commitee.

I want to see Iverson start again this year, but I think he won't. Tracy and Lebron will probably get more votes than him. It's a shame though because Iverson was second best last year, only had one less point than Kevin.

abosolutly fan voting should NOT be banned, the all star game is for the fans, therefore we should have a say as to who goes...the league fills in who got left out with the reservs...for the most part, the deserving players are there.

so what if grant hill gets voted in, he doesnt end up playing, and someone who deservs to play ends up taking his place...so there is no loss there

i dont think they should get rid of the fan voting, but it's a shame that the majority of the fans dont have too much basketball knowledge, like purehoops said. i'm just glad that they let the coaches pick the rest of the roster
