Trotter is on the downside of his career, will he even start?

He's still only 27 years old. And I think Jim Johnson could utilize him very well. It doesnt matter if he starts, it just adds depth.

My bad i got jesse armstead mixed up with jermiah trotter. I always get them two mixed up.

Course coming from washington where arrington stole the show could make trotter look like he was on the downside also. Regardless its a good signing for philly.

    isnt armstead in carolina now?

Two less than spectacular years in WAS following some good ones in Philly. Maybe being reunited with Johnson is what Trotter needs. Will be interesting to see how well he does. I hope he sucks when they play GB though...

I agree Packfan. A return to Philly could be what he needs as long as those knees hold up.

It'll be good for the depth, if nothing else.

this move sucks. trotter is a overrated, waste, and stupid player. i may boycott the eagles this season because he isnt any good....

ok, i might have taken that far, but he was a product of our system which may be good, but when he was here we sucked against the run. at least now we know with a healthy d-line we are the best Run stoppers in the league, and that will preserver simmenaeu the whole season.

trotter is constantly out of position, he guesses on were the play will be and hits that gap, hes had knee injuries, not to mention burned the bridges with AR. i hope he does great here, but still he isnt the LB i wanted. its not a risk, hes here for the minimum, and had a great relationship with the players and was a captain.

he basically begged to sign here, so well see..........i hope he does well, but i have my questions.

Trotter could probably make our starting lineup! Then again, I've met Girl Scouts that fit that bill! I just hope the Gun can turn things around.

How do you know you are the best run stuffers in the league?? I honestly don't understand where you can come up with that. You gave up like 130 on the ground last season so....until you do it you shit. It would have been like me claiming that before last season after we got shredded on the ground in 2002. I'm not saying your team can't turn that part of their game around but I mean you have no basis ot say that.

umm they were number 1 in the league all the way up week 5, thats when hollis thomas went down, and the 5 d-line injuries caught up with us. thats how i came up with that, also mark simmenaeu was the player of the month, then both our D-linemen and LB were on the field for literally every Defensive snap of the game and they got worn down.

i said the best run-stoppers in the league because most of u love stats, so thats a stat. there ya go

number one for 5 weeks hahahah thats why we play sixteen. We lost our best run stuffer for 6 weeks and only got better. Quit the excuses and see the reality and If I keep seeing this horse shit about Mark Simmenaeu (if thats how to spell it) being player of the month as if it means something i'm gonna puke. Your defense may end being very good this year and it could also be very bad but we'll see. It's just you aren't the best run defense in the league right know and that is pretty clear cut. You have to young corners with some experience STARTING to go along with an overrated safety and a young up and coming safety. hardley the makings of the 85 bears but if you read just your comments you would think they will be nothing less.

The vikings were one of the best teams in the league for 6 weeks, also.

You had to bring that up, didn't you. [IMG]

Seriously Philly_Freak93, you can't make a claim to the best in the league when you only lead the league for the first 5 weeks. Every team could claim they were the best if they had a healthy roster all season long in ideal conditions. If after the first 5 weeks of the season we were to play the superbowl, it would have been a Vikings/Chiefs SB.

u guys all missed my point, my point was that with a healthy d-line, that kept our LBs fresh and we were great against the run. that wsa my point, i brought up Mark S. to point out that he died back there as the season went on due to all the injuries up front. im saying with a healthy d-line we were a very good run stoppers, and all those straight games with a 100 yard rusher was due to our DTs playing every play. thats it, im not overrating any1 im stating a fact of the game. regardless of the time, they dominated the run up and till that point.

Injurys injurys ohh we in tampa know them like the patroits and eagles did last year. We werent as fortunate to overcome them in the end. We were the worst against stopping the run in 2002 and we were superbowl champs. Throw that crap out the door.
