    From the SJ Mercury News:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If there was ever a moment that demanded that Warriors owner Chris Cohan bust out of his self-defeating, self-imposed seclusion, it was Tuesday.

And still Cohan did not emerge from wherever he hides or resides.

If there ever was a time for Cohan to step forward, it was to answer Gilbert Arenas' stream-of-consciousness claim Monday on KNBR that he would've taken the Warriors' $4.9 million salary and rebuffed Washington's six-year, $65 million deal if only he could've found a way to trust Cohan.

And still no Cohan, no answers, no leadership, no direction. Same Warriors, hurtling aimlessly forward, now minus a star guard with a grudge.</div>

Funny how the Warriors have the two most hated front office people this side of the two Jerry's that were in Chicago. Gary St. Jean and Cohan haven't exactly made their presence felt in a good way to Warriors fans. It doesn't look like it will change anytime soon either. Hopefully Mullin does get St. Jean's spot eventually and hopefully he will know what to do for the better of the team.

    Cohan's disinterest

    Sunsfan,

Cohan's disinterest, underhanded character, and absolute clueless behavior was well documented in a article last Feb in the SF Chron.

Cohan was sited as the most litigious owner in the league who once sued a season tix holder, a lier who fabricated his education on his resume, a cheat who attempts to short change or slide on contractor/vendor bills, and a guy who forever tries to erase the fact that his father left him flush which helped to set him up for life. He is not a self made man as he would like people to believe.

The Warriror franchise resides in one of the top 5 media markets in the US. The Bay Area is a hot bed for basketball as W fans have supported the team through this hideous ownership-disaster ship.

The Ws future is connected to Cohan: simply put until he sells the Ws will sink. . . peachbasket

Yea I've gone to a few games the past couple years and there is a pretty good fan base despite the floundering records and whatnot. There have just been way too many mistakes and the fans there deserve something better.

Yeah, maybe something big will happen and there is a new taker. It's funny, I heard how Cohan got booed at the all-star game when it was at Oakland (I think it was Oakland). He got booed in front of his kid. That's probably why he hides. He isn't the most liked, but he controls the franchise that is loved by many. Pray that if there is ever a mega millionaire or billionaire that he is a warriors fan and knows how to reach all those basketball fans properly. Dallas is so lucky they have Cuban. But I don't think Don Nelson is leading them in the right direction with the team he wants.

I wish we had an owner like Cuban. I would probably wet my pants.[IMG]

I'm really suprised that the Mavs don't play defense. Don Nelson is a defensive minded coach and he knows what it takes to win championships.

Well you know Nelly. Remember run-tmc? Replace Mullin-Hardaway-Richmond with Nowitzki-Nash-Finley and it's pretty much the same. But boy do I miss Manute Bol getting the green light to shoot 3s!!!!

Don Nelson? Defensive minded coach? In the same sentence? I guess Nash and Finley were all right, especially for perimeter defense. But in the low post they are screwed. Don't get me wrong I like the mavs. Very exciting. But if it weren't for Nick Van Exel they wouldn't have gotten beyond the first round. A good team has good execution of plays and enough time/stamina to play good defense and control the tempo of the game. Plus Dallas has no shotblockers, the last line of defense. I swear the times that centers like Shaq, Yao, Ben Wallace, Jermaine O'Neil (he's really a center), Tim Duncan (also really a center), Camby (probably really a power forward), Foyle and Dampier have saved their team's ass because they were able to reject a shot that might have gone in. Plus its in your face like a dunk. Gets the crowd going at the arena too when a shot gets rejected by Damp/Foyle and the ball is now going down the other way.

Defense minded? Wow. I was thinking the exact opposite. Every coach preaches defense because they have to and claim to be a defensive coach, but I think his true colors are showing that he is a offensive minded coach.

Yes you did. As far as Cohan goes, that guy is not even worth my effort by posting about him. [IMG] just did.

Peachbasket hit it right on the head. Cohan needs to go. Unfortunately since the team is a cash cow for him, he won't sell the team. Unless the attendance drops significantly and merchandising sales plummet, Cohan will see no reason to sell.

More like how many super rich men would be interested in buying the team? Cohan is pretty damned rich and you have to be in order to be a sports franchise owner.

when i asked the question, i didn't think there would be an answer that would be better either way. both owners are cheap, but at least sterling gets some positive pub, unlike cohan.
