Who do you think should start?

Derrick Coleman will most likely be starting because if he doesnt start or get good playing time, he's not happy, and it just makes everything worse, just look at when he was with the Hornets.

Marc Jackson showed what he can do when he had to match up against shaq, and he did hold his own. Jackson is athletic also, and they say he has a mid range jumper, and he can put the ball on the floor...so i hear.

Coleman is not happy about having to play center again. I say start both of them Coleman at power forward and Jackson at Center. Then have Kenny Thomas off the bench.

This is a tough decision, Derrick would be awfully mad if he didn't get his minutes. But Jackson should start at center, he is far more athletic, he is all muscle and can block a shot. DC on the other hand is mostly fat, and they weight the same amount of pounds!

I don't like the idea of sitting Kenny, he is a great guy to have to start. When he was on the bench the previous season we did bad, as soon as he stepped in we were so much better defensively. He gets big blocks, and huge rebounds.

This is a very tough decision but I'm sure that Randy will make the right decision.

I agree with Raptors21. Look on the positive side of Thomas being benched, he would make the Sixer's second line killer.

Another thing to look at is ESPN Insider's Depth Charts. They have Jackson backing up Coleman at Center.

True, Jackson could back up DC at center, he is a younger guy, plus he really needs to prove himself to get that starting position.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The 76ers made it official at a news conference yesterday: They have re-signed free agent Derrick Coleman and penciled him in as their starting center.

And while Coleman sounded very happy about coming back, he sounded less than thrilled about the role he'll be playing.

"If that's what I have to do, then that's what I have to do," he replied when asked about playing center, rather than power forward, his natural position. "Do I like it? No, I don't like it."</div>

Looks as if that's decided, that Derrick will start at the five, and Kenny at the four. So it was true, Marc needs time to develop and prove him self.

Coleman is the one who said last year or the year before that he would rather have the sixers play him at center because he thinks he is strong enough to battle inside.

And why on earth would Coleman be at PF and Jackson at Center, Jackson is far more athletic, and having Coleman playing PF in the east, he would just get killed, running the court with the east forwards.

But playing against western teams, i think it would be a good idea to have Coleman starting at Center and Jackson starting at PF. IMO

Coleman has to be out of his mind to think he can play PF again, maybe if he slimmed down and could actually run the court better. Like i said before, the Eastern forwards would eat him up running the floor.

eastern centers will be able to eat him up running the floor just as well as eastern conference PF's. Coleman just wants to play PF because that's what he's played during his whole career, with the exception of last season.

i think Jackson will get a lot of PT even if he doesn't start. Coleman only played 65 games this season at 27.2mpg. i dont think he'll be able to stay healthy all season

I think they should switch up positions every now and then. Possibly Jackson playing against the west, and Coleman playing against the east. Jackson held his own against Shaq, and if he can do that, then he is the right man for the job. But he will not get to start, as it has been stated that Kenny will start instead.

So they start Coleman at center. He is way to slow to go against guys like Martin, Jermaine O'Neal...so then you start Kenny Thomas at PF. Jackson is a true center. He plays well there and Kenny Thomas did real well for Philly last year.
