^i put Webber at 10 instead of O'Neal because Webber can lead his team in the playoffs. Also, despite his softness and injuries, he is SKILLED. O'Neal and an injured Webber seem about even to me (if you consider that Webber was injured on and off all season), so I'd take Webber over him <div class="quote_poster">Quoting J Tins11 JO7:</div><div class="quote_post">They may not have the post the post moves or shot blocking skills but neither KG or TD has the ball handling skills of -Mac or Kobe. KG can handle the balll sure but both T-Mac and Kobe are proven of being average at posting up. KG does not have the ability to take over a game like T-Mac or Kobe. Tim Duncan can take over a game as good as T-Mac or Kobe but still isn't as clutch as Kobe. And TD is so friggin boring! remember the 80s? Larry Bird best all-around player at the time right? Was he the best? NO. Even give that question to a panel of experts and they'll agree the ball-handler was a player while Bird was better all-around. </div> 1. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Vintage:</div><div class="quote_post">First of all, if you asked GMs around the league, who'd they rather have, Kobe, Tracy, Kevin, or Tim, most would say Tim. Tim isn't clutch? How? Did you watch the LA series? That was clutch. Just bec. Kobe has a better outside shot, that doesn't make him more of a clutch player. Tim gets it done when it counts; when the game is on the line. That's clutch. It doesn't matter where the 2 points come from at the last second; it only matters that the player scored them when needed. Thats what being clutch is all about. Tim Duncan is a clutch player. Boring? Since when is 20/20/10/8 boring? Those are amazing numbers. TMac and Kobe will never put up those kind of numbers. But Duncan did. Just bec. Duncan is fundamentally sound, instead of all flash, doesn't mean he is boring to everyone. I love watching him play, bec. he is a complete basketball player. Maybe you think he is boring, and perhaps some GMs might think so too...........but I am willing to bet that most of the GMs think he is the best player in the league RIGHT NOW!</div> I never said TD wasn't clutch. duncan is the best player in the league, he has 2 straight MVP's to prove it. he will likely get MVP #3 next year, because he's so good.

Who says I was giving you CRAP about jermaine being younger. its not just that hes younger. hes much younger and when hes on hes harder to stop than chris webber in scoring and rebounding. but webber is still more consistant and doesnt dissapear when the games on the line like jermaine so youre right he still gets the nod but whatch that matchup closely this year

Assists don't keep you from being a ballhog Kobe Pierce and AI are examples
yea they do unless you have an unstoppable force like shaq on your team to make every little pass into an assist. Face it. Pierce isnt a ballhog. you cant be a ballhog and average about 8 assists a game for a key playoff series. a ballhog wouldve been trying to take every shot to get hot. And when theyre on fire you DONT WANT them dishing it you want them shooting. othewise whats the point. and no ones twisting your words around. just casue they disagree with u doesnt mean they hate u
The role of Kobe, Pierce, and AI is to score. You might mistake it for being a ballhog, but they have the green light to take shots. Their role in their respective offense is to put points on the board. Of course they are going to take a few bad shots during the game, but they still have decent FG% for the amount of shots they take, especially Kobe at 45%. Each of these players were in the top 5 in free throw attempts per game as well. ALL ahead of Tim Duncan. To say Pierce does not take it to the hole and only shoots 3's is far from accurate. Pierce takes it to the hole strong and looks for contact. They all shoot roughly 9 FT's a game, they are not ballhogs, they are attackers, because their job is to attack. They put pressure on the defense and get teammates better looks because of their ability to score anywhere on the court. The bottomline, carrying the scoring burden for your team does not make you a ballhog. *sidenote, T-Mac can also be included in that group.
he probably should get there even more than he does. he made some DUMBass comments about refs a couple years ago and theyve never forgiven him. Ive seen him not given the call on plays where he got his teeth knocked out. the guy gets mauled everytime he goes to the basket
jtins, quit bitching. every1 else just shutup and leave him alone. he just has a matter of opinion, like u.
oh well why dont all just STOP debating and discussing basketball then? i mean sure thats why were all here but we cant risk hhurting someones prescoius wittle feelings can we???
i like debating. and i think jtins is bein a lil ***** in this situation. but this has been argued as much as it can b. mine would have to be: 1. Kobe 2. T-Mac 3. KG 4. Duncan 5. Shaq 6. Kidd 7. Pierce 8. JO 9. franchise 10. iverson/webber that's just off the top of my head.
we are just pointing out the facts, which he was not aware of or simply overlooked. if he cannot handle someone disagreeing with him and taking it as a personal attack, then he is probably not mature enough to be here.
yea, cant just take it personnaly when someone disagree wit you. we didnt say anything personnal or mean
I just joined this board and so far it doesnt look like too many ballers know what the hell they are talking about. My suggestion is to watch more games and spend more time with the game before you start running off bogus top 10 lists. First off- If anyone thinks that someone other than Kobe is the best player on the planet, then you are obviously mistaken. Or possibly on crack. This is so easy to see its ridiculous. Out of the top 5 in the leauge, you can easily name 2-3 flaws in everyones game, EXCEPT for Kobe. He has 0 flaws, easily making him the best player in the league. Compare him to T-Mac. HA!! Kobe's individual and team defense are far superior to TMAC. Kobe is a MUCH, MUCH better passer than TMAC, 10 times more clutch, and a better scorer to boot, despite not winning the scoring race. His 40 point run said enough about that, along with his 42 points in first half against the Wiz. I can go on and on. This is not even close. This is how it really looks. 1. Kobe (steady) 2. Duncan (steady) 3. KG (steady) 4. Tmac (steady) 5. Shaq (falling) 6. Dirk (rising) 7. Webber (falling) 8. Kidd (falling) 9. Francis (rising) 10. Pierce (steady) 2-10 can be interchanged on any given night, Kobe is the only consistent factor.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe is #1 easy.</div> Oh I see. Would you like to explain, or does the username do that already?
BBall4life, you talk about Kobe as if hes the only player in the league, how about if YOU watched more basketball you'd understand that Kobe isnt the best player in the league, hes not even the best on his team. Kobe can't make his team win, without Shaq, the Lakers can be compared to last year's Denver Nuggets. The top 3 in no order are Shaq, Duncan, and KG, why do you think this is? Because those 3 players I have previously named all make their team win, without them, their team is nothing but garbage.
