Until moss breaks his record he will have to sit backseat to jerry rice who has over 200 tds. Not to mention jerry rice is still playing football.
How you guys can even debate this is lunacy...Reguardless of talent, I wouldnt want Randy Moss on my team at all, Jerry Rice however is neck in neck with Walter Payton to be the greatest football player ever....Randy Moss has gaudy numbers, but regulary does stupid stuff that hurt the team, Rice has gaudy numbers, rarely makes a bad play and works harder in a single workout that Moss has his whole life....Moss = loser, Rice = winner....that about all I have to say about that....
I think Rice has a better understanding of the game and is more focused on the field. Whereas Randy has greater physical skills. Imagine if Rice had Moss' ability... now that would be scary.
i would take rice, and chris carter, marvin harrison, art monk, steve largent, mike ditka, shannon sharpe, tony gonzales, isaac bruce, tory holt, tim brown, andre reed, henry ellard, james lofton, charlie joiner, lance alworth, paul warfield, kellen winslow over randy moss. I think there are probably a lot more but this is the list of top of my head.
Beef, Rice and PAyton best ever? not talent wise, but work ethic, personality and achievments yes but... Randy has without a doubt the most talent ever at WR. Height, Speed, Agility, hands. wereas rice had the perfect knowledge for the position and ran routes like no other, I think Torry Holt is the same way just a little faster. if Randy ever settled down, played all the time and not just when he wants to, leads a team and still dominates, ur damn right hed be better.
well philly moss does not do that, i would rather have you start for me. You at least have a passion for the game of football and want to win.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (J-E-T-S 1083)</div><div class='quotemain'>you know whats kinda scary we might not have seen randy in his prime yet</div> Very True.
I can not wait to see moss in his prime, i think he get tank way more plays and cost the vikes way more games than he is doing now. He is working hard to reach that summit, a 0-16 season for the vikes.

If it wasn't for Moss the past few seasons, there would be no bright spots on the team. Sure he's had his immaturities, but on the team he is one of the most respected players. All of his current team mates respect him and view him as a leader. Add to that the work he's done with the NFL rookies, I think he has done a lot to show that he is more responsible than the media lets on. The sports media does two things with athletes: they make them saints or they make them sinners. Chris Carter for a long time couldn't do wrong in the eyes of the media because he was a charmer. Randy Moss came with a history, screwed up a couple of times, and is done. Other examples of people who will never get a break: Latrell Spreewell (basketball), Allen Iverson, David Boston, T.O., and countless others. Meanwhile, Payton Manning will perpetually be the good kid. Who would I take? Tough to say...I would take Moss IF I had a really good coach who could keep Moss on track. Otherwise, Rice is the man. Can you imagine an all-time team with Rice, Moss, and Carter as the W.R.?
That would be good, cuz then i could bench moss for not playing hard without thinking twice, and that would light a fire under him. worked when he was with carter and reed.
bears i think you only dont like moss because your a bears fan stop being biased randy moss talent wise is incredible. i dont understand how randy moss loses games for the vikings cause he makes great catches every game. i really still dont think we've seen randy in his prime, when he gets there it will be scary i cant imagine him better though. maybe by that time he'll be in a jets uniform being throw too by Pennington :.)
VF, why do Latrell(women beater) AI(i love him but busted for alot of things like drugs and assault) deserve a break? Chris Carter did drugs as much as any other, TO and BOston arent that bad, so i agree they need a break. ALl TO does is entertain and want to win, boston has been caught drinking, who hasnt? peyton is clean also and o yea, wwhen a player says he wants to play when he feels like it, and then goes on the cover of SI and says he wants to win more than any1(few years ago), assaults a women police officer or something like that, they dont deserve a break, their a waste of talent. pure waste, i would not be sad if Randy moss blew out both knees, and lost both hands going over the middle to Brian Dawkins and Michael Lewis in week 2. i would cheer because hes the kind of player thats a jerk and waste of talent. wow-me a bears are on the same side.

We place athletes on a level that they shouldn't be placed. Sure, AI has done some really bad things, Latrell has done some bad things, but do you really think Manning has never done something bad? Its simple, the sports media places star athletes into two categories: good guys and bad guys. That is why the Kobe Bryant thing is such a big deal in the eyes of the media. If that were AI, they would just say it was AI being himself. Kobe was a good guy...the media didn't know what to do. Randy Moss is terrible with the media. I guarantee you that 90% of football players take plays off. Coaches have admitted to this. Randy Moss just said it, and said it in a disrepectful manner. I believe that Moss wants to win as much as any one. I also can understand why on some plays he doesn't run as hard as he should. You run multiple fly patterns all game long and see if you have the energy to run a simple out that is not a part of the actual play. The assault on the officer thing is ridiculous. He did not assault her, he wasn't convicted of assault, and the civil case that is in court for that right now should be thrown out. The officer did some pretty stupid stuff in that case. But again, how would that look if the media reported it as being a pushy traffic officer? Randy Moss is a jerk? Do you know him? Have you followed his charitable giving? Not many people do. Why? He doesn't let people follow his charitable giving. He tries to keep it quiet. But that man gives away a larger part of his paycheck than most other players in the league. If you want to know what type of player a person is, look at what their teammates say. Randy Moss used to be a source of trouble on the team. Now he is the most respected person on the team. You don't want him? Fine...just one more reason why the average fan would fail as a GM. You want to see him get hurt? Not cool... You are trusting the opinions of some reporters who are looking for a story on a guy who has a bad history. I am sure even Jerry Rice has his share of moments in life that he is ashamed of.
i was messing with that hit comment, ive had a serious knee injury and wouldnt wish it on any1 trust me. any1 can give to charity, does that make them a good guy? yes but any1 can put money in, a real sacrafice would be his time. Athletes are held to a higher standard not because of the media, but because of their celeb status, whats moss getting 17 million a year? he has millions of kids dreaming of being him, and having his ability and he runs some police officer over, says he plays when he wants to, and gives off a bad rep. thats wrong because thats just going to but a bad taste in kids mouth and hunger for sucess, if a athlete doesnt want his name so big, then he shoudlnt be playing, or play in canada or europe, but moss has his money and hes happy.
He does give his time...and a lot of it too. He also favors working with kids. 2 seasons ago a local reporter started noticing that a kid in a wheelchair was constantly seen at the Vikings games at the dome. Whenver Moss would score a touchdown, the ball would go to him. Ends up, Moss brought him to all the games. Moss does a lot of non-published charity and gives a lot of his time. I think any athlete who does more behind the scenes than he does in front of the camera is certainly doing things for the right reasons. Don't get me wrong...I don't think the guy is a saint, and he is certainly horrible with the media. He has no finesse when it comes to giving interviews, but he's honest and tells it like he sees it. Unfortunately, sometimes his views are out of sorts. Does Moss want his name to be big or did the media make him big? Its hard not to be a celebrity when you have the talent of Moss. Athletes are held to a higher standard because of their celeb status, but they wouldn't be celebrities if the media and public didn't put them there. If I've seen anything from Moss, its that he doesn't want to be a celebrity...in his words, he doesn't trust the media or the general public as he's been burned too many times. He is overall a very private individual.
