That is a joke. Ben Wallace is the most overrated player in the NBA easily. He is such an overrated defensive player its not even funny. He gets lots of rebounds. Oh ok. Defensive rebounds = overrated statistic The guy puts no energy out into offense. All he focuses on is rebounds and blocking shots, and most of the time those blocks come from helping out other teammates, and he doesn't get alot of blocks on his man. Rebounding....if you asked Elton Brand, Garnett...whoever, to go out, and get all the rebounds they can, and not to worry about scoring, they could get 15 a game. They already get about 12. Kenyon Martin is overrated, and it has gone to his head thinking he is worth the max. That is nuts. You can't really rate LeBron until he plays. People are saying he has lots of potential, I don't know how he is in this list. Vince isn't overrated. This is about them when they are healthy, and Vince was a top 10 player back in 2000-2001. He just shoots to many jumpshots. Yao Ming? Yeah ok. No one said he was the best center in the NBA. Yao is a great passer, a good jump shooter, and has good post moves. He is overrated? Why? Because he was an All-Star? Yeah...maybe I can agree with that he shouldn't have been one.
I wouldn't say that Yao is overrated. Can you honestly blame all those fans in China for voting for him? They wanted to see him start, and he did. Yao's fans outnumber LA/Shaq's fans. My list in no particular order: Kenyon Martin, Vince Carter, and Antione Walker.

Allan Houston overrated? How? No one talks about him, like someone else has said. Overpaid? Yes. But he isn't overrated. There is a difference. Houston isn't a great defensive player, but he is solid. And he is also one of the best pure shooters. Again, overpaid is not the same as overrated, so Houston shouldn't even be mentioned. Kidd? How? All he does is win. If thats being overrated, I want to be overrated. Take a look at a team like Houston. Houston with Ming(better than NJ's centers), Posey(better than Jefferson- and yes he is), Mobley and Kittles are a wash, Martin is better than Griffin............but overall, the talent levels on those teams seem to be pretty close. Yet the Nets went to the finals, and the Rockets missed out on the playoffs(And dont tell me the Nets wouldnt make the playoffs in the West). Kidd is a winner. You may not like him........I dont either. But there is no denying he is a winner and the best PG in the L. Walker? He gets called overrated so much I am not sure he is overrated anymore. Everyone seems to hate on him, so I dunno if he is truly overrated anymore. He may shoot a lot of 3's......and I don't like that part of his game, but there is no denying he isn't one of the most talented PFs in the Eastern Conference. His versatility is great. He also is a good passer, something that often gets overlooked. And how is LeBron overrated? He hasn't played a game yet. Overhyped? Maybe. But let's let him play a meaningful game first(hell, maybe even a couple of seasons....)

Agree with your post Vintage. Allan Houston used to be an All-Star, but all he would do is shoot. He would get like 2 rpg and 2 apg a game. All he can do is shoot. Overpaid? Yes, very. I don't know how LeBron can be overrated.
