yea but in five years Pierce is 30 and Walker is 31. If Pierce continues to get HAMMERED EVERY time he goes to the basket like he does now he could be well past his prime and some people already think walker is washed up. That's like theyre saying theyre planning for the next generation and already giving up on this one and plus, kendrick perkins is NOT the guy who's going to be a cornerstone or franchise player to build a contending team around. Merely making the finals won't do for starved celtic fans up north I mean they want to see some kind of plan thats attempting to take them to the TOP. Perkins wont be anything more than a solid roleplayer IF that

Jordan was hammered every time he went to the basket.........and he lasted how long? Pierce wont be past his prime. And Walker still has plenty of ball left in him.

30 and 31...........thats not too old. Lets say Perkins develops into something, like a 15/10 guy. Thats what you need. Pierce and Walker will still be your #1 and #2 options. They still will have another 5-8 seasons left.

Even if Perkins doesn't develop into that, but into a decent player, another Tony Battie type player(minus the shotblocking, but with more scoring), Boston should still be ok, if Banks develops.

Honestly I think Battie is slightly more skilled than he's given credit for. he is a decent down low pressence on defense who can dunk when open but he has NO shot and CANT stay healthy so he's worthless on a contending team. Jordans different though, he was so good that players couldnt hammer him if they really tried. Pierce gets absolutley manhandled out there more than any star in the league and I think its gonna shorten his career unless players start laying of for fear of foul trouble like they do with kobe. 15/10 would be incredible for Banks. thats way beyond anyones expectations. I think most people think he'll end up a solid reserve F/C at best.
