I saw the Wilt vs. Shaq thread but no Kobe vs Mike thread so who do y'all think is better. I would pick MJ anyday: 1) MJ had less to work with yet he got 6 championships. Sure he had Scottie Pippen but Scottie is no Shaq. Mike had to carry the team even with the triangle. 2) Mike led the league in scoring 10 times while also being a solid rebounder and assist man considering his position. 3) Kobe is a ball hog. Considering he has Shaq, Fox, and Fisher, he should not have to shoot as much as he does. He is not as mentally in tune as Mike was. Mike knew when it was his time to take off and when it was time to sacrifice for the win 4) Despite the argument, Kobe does not have the same drive as MJ. MJ's comptetivness is probably the greatest for any sports player in our century. He came out of retirement just to play. 5) I just love MJ anyway, lol...
absollutley. no one actually thinks kobe is in the same boat as Michael Jordan. its no contest. I think its insulting to Jordan to even debate it

I'm a huge Kobe fan, but he has a long way to go before I would even consider comparing him to the greatest player ever.
I was the guy who started the wilt vs shaq thread and the reason i didnt do kobe vs mj was pretty obvious, read above! MJ dominates Kobe
This thread is pointless. Kobe will be better eventually. Mark my words; shoot me if I'm wrong. If Kobe had bigger hands, he would be insane! "I just wanted to make sure Kobe didn't dominate me."
mj is the greatest player of all time and i doubt kobe would become better than him but u cant really make any of these comparisons until both players finish their careers.
If u give Kobe a chance to mature as a player in an atmosphere where he is the star he will eventually be better, but now it is MJ hands down!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting olskoolFunktitude:</div><div class="quote_post">its no contest. I think its insulting to Jordan to even debate it</div> I agree 100%. MJ all the way. I don't think Kobe will ever be better than MJ was.
Kobe for sure MJ is 40 and kobe 24..no brainer to me But seriously in their prime...jordan by a mile...G.O.A.T

"I just wanted to make sure Kobe didn't dominate me."</div> kobe will NEVER be as good as MJ. doesnt have the skills, determination, leadership, clutch abillity, ups or toughness that jordan had. Kobe just had the best season of his career at a very impressive 30 pts a game. By the time Jordan was 24 he had a 37 ppg season under his belt

The things MJ has done in his career...... Kobe is not in MJ's level. But then again, who is? Its not a knock on Kobe, its just a measure of how great MJ really was.
u can't be the best of all time when youre not even the best of your time, the best of your team or (debatabley) the best at your position
