I don't know if Shape means that it is practically a done deal or not, but the Memphis papers have been rumoring it for months. I don't see why Golden State would want to do it. I realize that it clears cap, but it would still give them a logjam at Shooting Guard and force them to start Foyle with no backup. Another rumored trade has been Brevin Knight for Jerome James. This gives Memphis a Center and clears some cap room for Seattle while providing a consistant backup for Luke Ridnour.
Foyle is a back up C and we have wright or swift as a back up if they want to make a trade they should get a starting center.
The main rumor is Dampier for Person rather than Foyle for Person. Dampier isn't great, but he could certainly start over Lorenzen Wright. That would give the Grizzlies added depth and a chance to move Stromile Swift to Power Forward where he belongs. This would be great for the Grizzlies since they don't really have a real backup at Power Forward right now.
PF is Gasol. And if they get Dampier or Foyle they will take min oway from swift and he needs min to prove that he is a starter if he dosent start. Dampier will be nice back up for swift and wright back up for gasol

Stromile will never start unless he signs with the Knicks next season. The trade would add a great all-around depth to the Grizzlies roster - C - Dampier/Wright PF - Gasol/Swift SF - M.Miller/Battier SG - Posey/D.Jones PG - J.Williams/Bell Bottom of the Bench - Watson, ?D.Johnson?, T.Smith, Trybanski, Archibald, ?Dickerson?, Owens, Humphrey *Owens and Archibald will probably be cut, and Johnson might not make the team. And Shapecity, I saw it in the Insider too, but they took it out of the Memphis newspaper.
DAMPIER as starter never if they would make him a starter they would have to be drunk. Stro is way better then dampier

They are taking a nose dive in hopes of landing Yao Ming, so they could careless about any logjams at SG. I wouldn't be surprised to see this deal go through. And with the history of injuries in Golden State, I'm sure Person will get some minutes and jack up 3's. I just hope the Warriors don't lose their coach over all this mess, and if they cannot sign Yao, who's the scapegoat going to be? St. Jean or Mullin?
why would they trade for SG they have JRICH and they just drafted Michael Pietrus the EURO JORDAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats they guy that i want to memphis to draft

I suppose that Person or Pietrus could play alongside Mike Dunleavy Jr. at Small Forward. Still, I think the Knight/James deal is the more likely one.
that would make sense beacuse they have way to many pg so that might actually happen james will be a great back up
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JWillTheFreak:</div><div class="quote_post">DAMPIER as starter never if they would make him a starter they would have to be drunk. Stro is way better then dampier</div>That is a bold statement. Dampier started on the Warriors who were a better team than the Grizzlies last season. If we Dampier then Stromile wont even be playing Center anymore. He will be moved to Power Forward where he will backup Pau Gasol. Besides, if we don't get Dampier then Stromile still wont start. Face the awful truth that even though you like Swift doesn't mean he will start.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JWillTheFreak:</div><div class="quote_post">Tell the TRUTH when stro stared he produce for memphis right????????</div>No, Stromile produced for a few games, then he went cold, and then he produced for a few more. He is inconsistant. As a 6-9 Center who smokes weed, he wouldn't last more than twenty games at most as a starter.
If the Grizzlies can pull off either deal they will come out on top for this season. They are very close to making the playoffs, and size is a must in the West. Both Knight & Person are expendable and I wouldn't be surprised if both are moved before the season is over. The Grizzlies have plenty of players on their roster to replace those two overpaid vets. Also the more cap space they eat up, the less likely Kobe signs with Jerry West, so I hope they continue taking on large salaries.
when he stared he produce double double evrey game when wright started he avg. 10 and 7 wright is only 6'8 he is under size for C too
Wright is 6-11 and bordering on 7-0. You don't seem to be getting my message that Stromile is inconsistant and he needs to prove himself for more than a string of games. He would not have the same numbers if he started every single game. Wright stays consistant by providing a double double every other night which is just what the Grizzlies need. Do you not think that Stromile has chances to prove himself coming off the bench?
And to add to the Stromile issue, Jerry West does not like him. This reason alone will be why Stromile is sporting a new uni next season.
