He is a well-known pot head, he never helps out in the community, and he is a very immature wild child. For those reasons alone he will not start over Wright who is a Memphis fan favorite and is constantly helping out in the community.

If we had never done that trade then we would be needing a better starting Small Foward. We would also have a greater logjam at Shooting Guard and too much young talent at Power Forward. Trust West for now, he knows what he is doing.

post padding is annoying! West has only made one move and now he's God? He's made a lot more moves than just one move. He created the Laker Dynasty and he will build the Grizzlies into a contender. Jerry West is one of the best scouts out there. He can eye talent and is not afraid to gamble on unknown players. I think one of the reasons he dumped Gooden, was that Gooden was a constant reminder he didn't draft Amare. West was irrate at his scouts and the Grizzlies franchise for not having him more involved in the scouting during the draft. He was high on Amare, but didn't have enough time to screen him and justify selecting him or finding a way to trade down and get him later on (which is likely what would have happened.) The bottomline is you have to trust Jerry West and have faith he will make this franchise a contender.

All great teams have depth. It is the only way to survive in the West. Jerry West made some good moves last year that for the most part went unnoticed. He traded Nick Anderson for Wesley Person. He also traded Drew Gooden and Gordan Giricek for Dahntay Jones, Ryan Humphrey, and Mike Miller which in the long run will show to be a good move. Not to mention he hired Hubbie Brown. He has turned the Grizzlies around 180 degrees.
The GOODEN trade was a bad move what did miller do for memphis and what did gooden do for magic???????????
