The hot topics of the day.

Will the Clippers match Lamar Odom?
Is Eddie Jones on the verge of being traded?
Drew Gooden ready to play bigger.

    1) So are the Clippers going to match Lamar, I doubt it they already have 124 million on Corey Maggette and Elton Brand. Dont get fooled by their spending spree, Donald Sterling is doing this just to reach the league minimum of 32 million. I doubt Donald is willing to whip out 65 million on someone who doesnt want to be a part of your orginazation in the first place.

    2) If the Heat do acquire Lamar Odom, then they will have to move Eddie Jones, because they will have 4 swingmen , Dwane Wade, Caron Butler, Eddie Jones, Lamar Odom. They were considering trading Jones 4 yr/56 million contract to the Wolves for Terrel Brandon, but the wolves got a better deal (latrell Sprewell)

    3) Its Official Drew Gooden has said he is ready to prove people wrong once again. Apparently people said he was too small to play the power forward position but he proved them wrong. Now he wants to play center now that the Magic have acquired Juwan Howard. Drew has added 15 pounds , and is now a 6''10, 245 athletic big man.
"He plays with a lot of heart, he just needs to be more patient" said Tracy McGrady. Drew Gooden is arguably one of the most athletic big man in the league. With the lineup of Lue, Mcgrady, Giricek, Howard, and Gooden the Magic could surprise the league by winning the east.

    1. The clippers will match his offer. They are the perfect example of a horrible franchise who cant keep the players they get. This year is the first time they have made an effort to keep them by resigning Brand and Maggette. I do think they will resign Odom. The people in Clippersland want to win and they want to do it now. They have already lost Kandi and Miller. I dont think they can afford to lose Lamar too. Odom is a good player and I think paying $65 million for him is very reasonable. Donald Sterling has the money to keep Odom. I realize that he wants out but the Clippers need him. Odom could also be used in a trade package in the future if they want to do that. The Clippers love to trade their players. He needs to get out of LA for his own sake however I dont think this will happen right now.

    2. If they do sign Odom, Jones wont be touched. He has been on the trading block for a few years and no team has budged at the offer. Why you might ask? Here is why, he is an old player past his prime, who has a big contract. Nobody wants to pay him what he is making now. So it looks like he is staying out in Miami.

    3. Drew Gooden is a beast, pure and simple. He loves to play defense and is one of the hardest workers in the game. If he sets his mind to playing center, im sure he can accomplish that in the East. I see 20 and 10 a night from him coming in the very near future.

BTW, dont bump up your post count, by posting one liners like you have been. At JustBBall, you dont get respect by the number of posts you have but rather by the quality of your posts which is how it should be.

I really dont see the need to move it to the Writing Forum. I think it will be very good where it is now.

I agree with you dexter maybe the Clippers can do a sign and trade with the Heat. But I just cant see Lamar in Los Angeles next year. And what is Clipper land, the people in LA dont care about the Clippers its about the Lakers.

Its too late for a sign and trade. If the Clippers match it, Odom cannot be traded to Miami for a year, per CBA rules.

Sign and trade is out. I expect the Clippers to match it.

I am not entirely sure Odom wants to leave LA. If he really wanted to, he should have signed the one year tender offer, and become a UFA next year(like Kandi was this year).

Instead, he signed an offer sheet, which LA only has to match to lock him up for 6 years. Odom knows this, his agent knows this.....so if Odom really wanted out of LA, wouldn't this be a easier/safer way?

He hasnt signed the offer sheet yet, the Heat have just offered to him , so even if the Clippers match he doesnt have to agree to the 6 year deal .
