Who is the better player and who would you would have on your team

    Lets compare

    Elton Brand

    2002-03 Statistics

    PPG 18.5
    RPG 11.30
    APG 2.5
    BPG 2.55

    V

    Jermaine O'Neal

    2002-03 Statistics

    PPG 20.8
    RPG 10.30
    APG 2.0
    BPG 2.31

As you can see..both are double double guys...Elton Brand had a troubled season this year because of injury which made his PPG stats drop a little bit from the start of the year..but both very good young and coming players....JO has improved every season..And Is becoming a force like Brand .They do play in different conferences which can have an effect how certain players do...both very talented that are good defenders, give other teams big time problems on offence...They also have a good FG%...

But you decide who is better or who would fit your team best...

I will try and make more posts like this comparing different players..

I would rather have Elton Brand for his awsome Rebounding and his Great Defense. He is about = in Scoreing and Defense but in my mind he is a lot better rebounder.

I dont think he's that much a better rebounder. well he is now but I think jermaine could be if he were more aggressive on the boards. He gets a lot of them just on his hieght and length of his arms but he could be an absolute force if he would be as tough as he likes to act and talk like he is

Elton Brand is one of the most under-rated players in the league. He is a all-star player he is just on a bad team and plays in the west who has a lot of Power Fowards they are very great players and there is not room for everyone.

I'd rather have Brand. In this case, the numbers don't matter. Brand gets you more rebounds and blocks while his opponents have a couple inches on him. He just strikes me as a harder worker. This is just my personal preference, I wouldn't blame anyone for taking JO over Brand.. it's really a toss up.

Brand is the better offensive rebounder. Actually, he was one of the best in the league at it, if not the best(Can't recall). Why is that so important? Second opportunities.

And second opportunites can make a huge difference in a game.

But O'Neal can play PF and C.

But if I had to choose, Id probably lean with Brand. Even though he is 6'8", he has loooooooong arms that more than make up for it.

You cant base it all on stats. In my opionion JO is a better rebounder, shot blocker, and scorer. Just barely on all three. JO has much better athleticism. also remember that he has only been a star for 2 seasons, therefore has much less experience at the role he is playing. I think JO could be the best PF in the league 2-5 years from now. He continues to improve as brand seems to stay the same. Obviously i think JO is better but i might just be biased cuz he's my favorite player.

tough call but Brand. the stats r nearly similar but Brand is playing in the tough western conference where he plays the best PFs in the L on a nightly basis. JO on the other hand, was playing with a good center beside him (Brad Miller) and also playing in the east. if he was in the west then he would get owned just like how he did in portland.

hell yeah. i agree completely. i love brand, but i'd still rather have o neal. i just wish brand would get more recognition for what he does.

This is a close one, both are good, but Jermaine has some serious playoff experience , and he plays on a good team.

Brand led the league with 4.6 offensive rebounds per game, while JO was tied for 18th in the league at only 2.6 offensive rpg. Brad Miller had .1 less than he did.

But based on stats, JO is the better player, by a slight margin. I don't see how he's the better rebounder and shot blocker when he plays in the lesser conference and has about 4 inches on Brand.
