Jumaine Jones report from Celtics.com. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tale of the Tape: 6-8, 218, Georgia, 5th Season Skinny: Jones should be a nice addition to the Celtics, adding depth and athleticism. He is a player that can both shoot from the perimeter and drive to the basket. At just 23 years of age Jones is entering his 5th NBA season and has the experience of playing in the 2001 NBA Finals. His scoring average has increased in each season he has been in the league and he is a role player that can at times step up and handle the scoring load. Jones shot 35.4 percent from beyond the arc last, which would have finished as third best on last seasons Celtics. In 2002-03 he averaged 9.8 points per game. Along with Brown, Jones should also benefit from the Celtics change to an up-tempo style of play. Look for Jones to be a major player in the battle for the starting small forward position. Questions: Jones will have to prove this season that he can play defense. Williams, Brown and McCarty are all excellent defenders, and for Jones to impress Coach O'Brien he will have to prove early on that he can fit into the Celtics defensive scheme. Also Jones will need to show that he is still improving, even though he has increased his scoring all four seasons, teams are still waiting for Jones to have a break out year --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I guess Jumaine could have a breakout year but not if he doesn't get the minutes and I have a hard time believeing Jim Obrien is going to choose scoring over defense for his starting SF, but theres a chance he could get minutes at SF and PF behind toine. Im not sure that his scoring will go up for the 5th consecutive season but he will provide some effecient rebounding when he's in there. i think 10 and 6 are not out of the question but 8 and 5 might be more realistic
I think Kedrick Brown will start at least once the year gets going but i Jumaine starts he should do better than 5rpg
Kedrick Brown won't start unless you get a new coach..brown will continue to sit on the bench all year..while his coach wastes his talents
jim O'brien is one of the best coaches in the league but he does favor the veterans in a playoff race but thats going a little too far. Kedrick will get his minutes and if he makes good use of them he'll start
No doubt O'brien is a good coach..but it is high unlikely he will play brown even decent minutes..he loves letting his team shoot threes...brown has good talent and is a great dunker but i find it hard to believe he will suddenly get minutes..when he hardly ever played this year..Brown to fil his poteinal would be at a different team IMO
He was slated to start this year untill he got injured. obviously Obrien likes kedrick and intends for him to played or he wouldve told danny ainge to trade him instead of JR Bremer. The two are in good communication and Jim Obrien does expect kedrick to play but he has to earn it
Jones can't dribble, can't pass, and only has a set shot. He would never take the spot from E.Williams (In my opinion). I know he is still young, but you don't get great at those things overnight.
if he shows he can D people up then hell start and if he does, then hell be around 13 and 6.5, if come off the bench i say 9 and 5

Unless Jones proves he can play some D, he's not going to play. BTW, welcome to Justbball Heatnum, I hope you continue posting here.
