I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but i kind of did'nt like the way they called some games last year. I can't remember what game it was, but they threw a flag every 2 plays. A 3 hour game lasted almost 4. Also with instant replay and still making bad calls. I know some Ravens fans have to agree on that. It's rediculous. Thoughts?
I just hope they don't take this illegal contact thing to far because the receivers already have all the advantages and the fact that each year receivers are getting bigger and faster while corners aren't growing at the same rate doesn't make it any easier for them. This is going to hurt all defenses if receivers are aloud to get off the line because the corner is afraid to make contact after the five yards and on a side note it may give more rookie receivers a better chance to blow up fantasy wise at least.
I am excited about the illegal contact thing. Last year our receivers were getting killed by DB's hanging all over their arms without going for the ball. On one play Moss came down with ripped sleeves and the receiver never turned his head. Sure enough...offensive interference.

As for me, I'm glad we got rid of Mario Edwards or throwing in his direction would have been the opposing team's highest-percentage play.
Yeah, but we never had a good backfield, so its not like it will be much of a change for us. As for instant replay, I would like to see it used a bit more than it is currently being used.
Yes but the vikings corners will also be effected also. This hurts all the corners in the nfl. It difinetly helps out the wr's. I expect the same refs as we have seen make blown calls due to instant replay and the fact they are too proud to overturn there own mistakes in judgment calls. We often see the refs come up, the playing the view was inconclusive. I can for one say that the refs blew some calls on my team last year. I also watched them screw todd heap on a td catch. But thats the nfl and if the nfl doesnt wanna change there refs. We gotta move on maybe it will die down.
I'm still pissed at your boy dungy bucs for crying a river after the AFC championship game. I lost alot of respect for him over that. Belichick would have just said they were the better team that day or something like that he has yet to be the type to make excuses since he has been here and i didn't see many press conferences when he was a brown but I don't see him as the type to blame anyone but himself
ok the afc championship game was 1 of the worst referre'd games in the WORLD!!!!!!!!! Many pollard got the sh^t beat out of him and no flags but tyhen they call small holding calls!!!!!!!!!!!!
First the one play that I thought was bad was the pollard one and thats the only one they ever showed when talking about that game so everyone just starts saying the whole game was like that. Indy's receivers were weak and it showed. Ty law LEGALLY jammed Marvin into the next century multiple times. The Marvelous one folded and was out received by ty law. They are a bunch of panty waists. You didn't see our receivers having trouble getting off the line against carolina's physical play or against anyones because they have some toughness. They don't immediately start looking for flags after 5 yards, they fight back. I agree with letting them play because football is a physical game and if you can't get physical you shouldn't be out there. Maybe if Harrison would stand up to someone instead of diving for the grass as soon as he makes a catch he wouldn't have fumbled on rodneys' hit. We don't need this becoming basketball where you can't touch someone. The bullshit part is receivers do as much pushing as corners but the league wants offense so the retarded fan that knows shit will go ohhhhh aahhhhhh.
to be honest, i think ill expect what i expect every year from the refs... bad calls, more bad calls, and alot of bull sh*t calls
pats, i dont recall what you are talking about dungy.. however i have to make a valid argument for the panthers corners. One, the panthers dont have any good corners or a great secondary. They do have a corner who is overated that had a miracle day in the playoffs last year. But so did sehorn against moss in 2000. So tyhe argument that the panthers didnt do anything vs the patroits receivers is off. nflfan you are right there are inconsistencys in the refs. seems like since instant replay came back the refs have gotten worse. I agree with brian billuck on this ... get rid of instant replay it doesnt work.
Well the panthers secondary no matter how weak tried to be physical and couldn't which was pretty obvious as Givens just ran over your overrated corner Ricky Manning on one play. All I was saying was they tried to be physical but couldn't because are receiveres didn't shy away. As for dungy as soon as the season was over I read an article about how him and martz were going to protest this new rule emphasis to the competition comittee which both are apart off. It's ok cus their pathetic Defenses hopefully will be killed by this rule change.
