?Sebastian Telfair, a 6-foot point guard from New York City and easily the nation's most celebrated senior ? if not the highest-ranked ? will make an official visit to UofL, according to his Lincoln High School coach, Dwayne "Tiny" Morton. Telfair postponed last week's scheduled visit because of weather-related travel difficulties.? - The Courier-Journal, Louisville, Kentucky.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dexter:</div><div class="quote_post">That is streetball. That means didlly-squat in the NBA. Look at Skip to My Lou. He sure as hell cant play in the NBA and he is one of the best fancy streetballers in the game. If he was all fancy than he would be the MVP of the ABCD camp. You cant play fancy at that level or else you wont be playing, period. Fundamentals are what is needed and from hearing and reading about this kid, he has that. He just needs some size.</div> Rafer cant play in the NBA? When he started the last 4 games of the season, he got like 20 ppg 6 reb 7 ast 1 blk 1 stl. He also served as a great backup for Alvin Williams.
Education and development shouldn't be overlooked or looked down on. This guy could learn a lot by going to college. From the article Shapecity posted it's clear that he likes being in the spotlight but I doubt that he'd want the press associated with being an underachieving NBA rookie. He's small by NBA standards. It'll be fine once he develops but until then he's still a kid and in the NBA they play a man's game. He needs to grow-up a little. I?m sure that if he gives himself the opportunity to develop he?ll do just fine.

I don't think so, streetballers lack the fundementals to play NBA basketball.
telfair cant go straight to the nba simply because he is not physically conditioned to go to the L.he has to learn to deal with the intensity,to deal with that a few years of collage is necessary.Lebron is physically able to cope, but if he is on the level of playing in the L it will be shortly revealed
Just like Dexter and cross said, hes not physically ready. Lebron was a special, and very rare case. He had the body of a man. I think Telfair needs to get college experience because the HS players are nothing compared to the NBA. The next best step for him would be at least a year of college ball. Working more on the fundamentals of the game will greatly help. But of course, money and fame will most likely make him select NBA. I just think it would be better if he got the basics under his belt before making the bolt.
He's too small to make the jump, i don't take anything away from Bassy but at 6'0 you gotta seriously consider the NCAA. Look at T.J. Ford, just as an example, Ford in high school was one of the most dominant PG around, his team lost 6 games his entire high school career. Now i'm not a huge Ford fan but think if he had of made the jump to the NBA, ONE - he woulda been WAY down on the draft list and TWO - would have gotten eaten alive. I think Telfair should seriously hit up the college league and get faster and make his shot the best it can be. Because coming into the league he's not gonna be able to just toss up every shot at 6'0.
Telfair I think he needs to go to college definately (he's only 5'11), he isnt even the best point guard in his senior class. Shawn Livingston went head up with Telfair and most say that he was the better player out there. Not only because he is 6"7 but because he has more polished fundamentals. Telfair will probably go pro, regret it, and be the next Lenny Cook.

He is bound to get a first round selection and if he doesnt I am sure Marbury (assuming that they are close) will do his best to get him a tryout somewhere else.
Telfair will most likely attend Louisville <div class="quote_poster">Quoting :</div><div class="quote_post">Sebastian Telfair, the Lincoln High School point guard who is one of the most highly regarded and well-known prep basketball players in this year's senior class, is expected to announce that he will commit to the University of Louisville at a news conference tomorrow afternoon at his Brooklyn high school. The possibility remains that the 6-foot Telfair, who has led Lincoln to two straight PSAL championships and one state Federation Class A title, will skip college and head directly to the NBA. But that's a choice he doesn't have to make until 45 days prior to the NBA draft, which is scheduled for June 24. In the meantime, Telfair may have been urged by Louisville coach Rick Pitino to make his college intentions publicly known, because the Cardinals have already received four commitments. Telfair visited Louisville on the weekend of Sept. 26; it was his only college visit up to that point.</div> http://www.newsday.com/sports/basketball/n...ny-sports-print College would be a better move, he can develop his game more
I've seen him play a bit, on the Rucker Park Entertainer's classic on NBA TV and ESPN2. He really didn't impressed me much, college is probably a good idea... Has anybody else had a good look at him? I mean, how does he compare to his cousin Marbury at the same age. Marbury was awesome at Georgia Tech....
He is very good. I have seen him 4 times, once in person. He is extremely quick, and plays like his cousin, Stephon. He has improved his long range shot alot. Great court vision but....he is on 6'0". He is one of those 2 guards in point guards bodies.
Yeah seen him play a couple times, when playing in H.S. doesn't always play with the passion that would be desired, but at the same stage has a better J that Steph, nice handles, I am sure he would get drafted pretty high if he went, but as STCBBall3 said not really a true point guard but the same was said of Steph that he didn't get his teammates involved so I don't know if that's much a problem.
<font color="Red">Should help the Cards out alot. With him along w/ Dean and Garcia they're scary (and young).</font> Never thought I'd say this when he was at UK, but Rick Pitino is the man, he's done an incredible job. I admit I was a little skeptical when they first hired him, but I'm a believer now.

Darius Washington Any news on Darius Washington (Orlando Edgewater)? Supposedly as good as Telfair (though I don't buy it). Was some talk of him going pro, but I don't think he's ready for that yet. Also talk of Memphis, will that happen?
Ive been to a few of his games and hes a great player, no doubt. Hes already committed to Memphis for his college career. For more information on him check out http://nbadraft.net/profiles/dariuswashington.htm
He's like the 4th best PG in the country. 1. Shaun Livingston 2. Sebastian Telfair 3. Demarcus Nelson 4. Darius Washington
I can't wait to see him play this year. I'm still mad I never got around to seeing Amare play. From what I heard though from a couple of friends who played him, he was lazy on the court. Really suprised me to see him do as well as he did with the Suns. He's incredible.
