Why are the Dallas Mavericks sporting a logo of a Mustang but are called the Mavericks? I think they should change their name to the Mustangs...it's a better fit...and it relates to what's in Texas....a Maverick doesn't appeal to me like a Mustang does....and plus their logo is a horse....not a gun slinger or whatever a Maverick is....
agrees...Although Mustangs would fit with the logo, Mavericks has been what is of them. it'd be weird calling them Mustangs all the sudden...

maverick- An unbranded range animal, especially a calf that has become separated from its mother, traditionally considered the property of the first person who brands it. (dictionary.com) There ya go. Their logo seems appropriate.
