I just put that in there..as an example that Gasol does make them score even if his offensive rebounds aren't that high ..what else does williams do on offence that makes him grizzles best offensive player? assists? ok...but he only gets 12 a game..thats not offence..which is why he shouldn't be considered best "offensive player..

Why do you not consider assists offense?

Assists creates shots for others....that doesn't mean that person who creats them is a great offensive player..an offensive player is someone who scores alot of the points....don't know how you can say a guy who gets 12 points per game is your teams best offensive player...would you consider Jamaal Tinsley Pacers best offensive player?

Jason Kidd doesnt usually score alot of points. Granted he does light it up once in awhile. However there are games where he scores less than 10 points and is still the best offensive player on the court for his team.

Thats because Jason Kidd is his team's leading scorer and player...You can't use jason kidd in this...as he actually has a high PPG average...williams does not...and the fact Kidd doesn't have anyone on his team that gets 20 a night...Kidd over the years hasn't even been considered an offensive player...but he is the team's best player..

Put it this way there is 5 sec left who do u want to have the ball JWILL or GASOL?

I take JWILL because he can create a shot for him self or a teammate.

    KMart almost avg 20 right?
Y can u compare that to Kidd?

Kidd scores a lot of points when he takes a lot of shots and his % sucks.

Martin averages 16 a game..not really close to 20....Kidd shoots bad FG% and is not a good scorer or he hasn't been one through his career..thats why alot don't consider him an offensive player...same goes for Williams

Why do you not see assists as offense? Who was the knucklehead who taught you that offense was just scoring? Wake up call, it's not!

    Assists creates scoring..yes

but you need to score as well to be considered an offensive player

If it's just assists that makes you an offensive player..is Tinsley one? Is Dre Miller one? you don't get it...you need to SCORE..to be called an offensive player..please learn that...

I consider DIMES as offense because when u are a great passer like Williams/Kidd u give people lay-ups and they score easy points of u passes.

Not to mention that Williams' nine assists result in a minimum of eighteen points a game. Be open-minded, because I don't need to learn anything. You do.

12PPG is good for a role player..or in Williams case a true PG...to be an offensive player you need to at least average 19/20+ or past 15 a game at least...offensive player=OFFENCE+ SCORING

    not only assists

you hav'nt answered my question is Andre Miller a offensive player? is Tamaal Tinsley one?

[IMG] riight....you need to realise being called an offensive player..you need to score points as well as do others things...not only assists by creating for others....Marbury is a fine example of a very good offensive player..while getting alot of assists...

Williams has NEVER averaged 15 a game in his career....Don't see it ever changing...Yet some here will call him an offensive player [IMG] comedy

That is hardly comparable to the twelve points and nine assists that Jason Williams gets. Miller on the other hand may be considered an offensive player, however not the best on his team. He plays alongside two other offensive minded players unlike Jason Williams. Miller averages about fourteen points and seven assists. That's not as good a twelve points and nine assists, but it's close. Understand that with no Jason Williams there is no offense.

Of course I understand that....He is their PG..He is the guy who gets things going....but just because he creats for others doesn't mean he is an offensive player....he needs to score more to be considered that....But it isn't his style to do so.

People who dont know bball say that
Look at this if u take more then 20 shots a game u are a scorer because u dont have any other players that will score on u team
Marbury had finally a good year beacuse he was passing the ball
