How about everyone puts why. Its pretty pointless just to list them. Its more interesting to explain why so debates can happen. My surprise teams: Rockets- I expect them to do alot better than expected. Ming has improved alot over this summer and he has put on some weight. I expect them to really be up there this year in the Western Confrence. They will be much better than the Suns this year, IMO. Bulls- They have a load of young talent and this year might be the year they make a move and surprise people. Eddy Curry this year will be key to the success of this team or lack there of. I think the Bulls will be a playoff team this year. They have the talent they just need to produce.

Bulls bcuz addition of Pippen with provide a good one-two punch i nrose and pip. Kirk hinrick is a player that i expect to produce right away.eddy curry and chandler will both get much better. Rockets bcuz Ming has gotten experience. JVG is going to improve the defense and half court offense. Griffin was a good defensive addition and Piwakowski will nail threes when yao is doubled.
I wouldn't say bulls as many people already think they will make the playoffs and do alot better.Nuggets will surprise many with the signings of Miller,Boykins and Melo could be really good for them..even in his rookie year..And they might well sign Voshon Lenard soon..who did pretty well last season with Raptors...A 30-35 season is not out of reach..
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting allnet:</div><div class="quote_post">How will Mavs will biggest surprise team? they already won 60 games....</div>By doing even better. Not just in the season winning the championship. They have probly the most talented team. Lakers are favorites. So if the Mavs beat them thats a suprise.
Mavs will not win more than 60 games..Infact they will likely win less games..like 55...As with the talent increasing it wouldn't shock me if the wins do drop...It may well be a surprise if they beat L.A..but Mavs are a top 4/5 team...so really you can't say it would be a HUGE surprise in what they do next season....

Sonics- They seemed to have gotten overlooked all offseason. They probably won't make the playoffs, but they'll still be a handful. Bulls- Scottie Pippen has been in the playoffs every year of his career. He won't let that change. It'll be pretty tough to stop the Bulls' big man duo of Eddy and Tyson, and then you've got Marshall, Fizer, and Baxter coming off the bench.
Raptors- If Vince is healthy I think it would be hard for anyone to argue this, they're a deep team with a new coach that is known for his defence. Lammond Murray will be playing this year and he's excellent at getting to the line, something the Raptors had trouble with last season. At the end of last season Michael Bradley was showing signs that he may be able to start, and if he plays like he did at the end of last season he will be an immediate help on the boards. Rockets-I think the 7th and 8th seeds in the west are open, and this is one team that is definatley capable of making the playoffs. I would be really surprised if they don't make it, on paper they're a great team, and I don't know why they won't be next year.
There is no why memphis will be the suprise team next year. They might improve by 5 games but that wouldnt be a shocker
