Now: Duncan. Why? 21, 21, 10, and 8 is why. Refer to my avatar for more answers. [IMG]

Next season: Shaq. Most likely. Unless something horrible happens (or good, depending on the perspective).

For this year, I have to say TD also. He's quite untouchable.

Whatever dude. Duncan is so overrated. Kobe didn't have a better season than TD? How? Kobe had his best season ever and set a ton of records. Very MJ-like..

Shaq was very disappointing, true, but now that he is revamped, he will be back. And what other guy has 3 players hanging on him every play.

Duncan is a little better in some scenarios than KG IMO, but KG is better all-around.

[IMG] you rank kobe first and shaq 2nd..yet you have TD 4th..when he won the ring...with no where near as good a 2nd option..whats your thinking behind that? Oh yes..biased..You could say i'm biased....but TD backs it up with back to back MVP awards..and he won the title...the other 3 guys didn't...and KG hasn't got past round one yet...

Kobe is first in one area...but thats nothing to do with basketball [IMG]

I really hope you were joking when you said Duncan is overrated. For the past 5 years (yes thats including his rookie year) he's averaged more than 20ppg and 10rpg. How on earth is that overrated? I don't even think it's possible to overrate Duncan.

As for you putting Kobe at number one...You don't think Shaq is better? Do you even know the Lakers record without Shaq? I think your just biased, because everyone on earth knows that Shaq is better than Kobe.

I think people are going on a variety of different criteria. Depending on your definition of "best player," you could come up with about 10 different guys as the best.

In terms of pure skills, I'd go with Kobe. In terms of all-around game, I'd go with Garnett. In terms of who I'd start my franchise with, I'd go with Duncan. In terms of who the best teammate is, I'd go with Kidd. In terms of most dominant, I'd go with Shaq. The list goes on.

Let's just have a good debate here, and no one get angry if someone doesn't agree with you.

MDE you're seriously biased! Even though I'm not a Tim Duncan fan I know that he's done way better than Kobe his year...Kobe did pretty good, but not great.

My goodness people, take a chill pill. Kobe is much better all-around than Duncan.

How can you say Shaq is better than Kobe when Kobe is still on the upswing and is pulling out insane stats?! We all remember Shaq's tragic performance in game 5 versus the Sp*rs.. ouch! But now Shaq IS back in full force, so it is hard to say right now..

Oh yeah, Kobe's record w/out Shaq was miserable, he only had Soumalia Samake starting at center and a suspended Rick Fox, and an injured Devean George, and Slamaki Walker, and a broken down Roberto Horry, and undrafted rookie Jannero Pargo, and rookie Kareem Rush. Wow, what alot of help! Dang Kobe, couldn't you at least have gotten 5 wins? Sheesh...

TD had David Robinson as his 2nd option? Puh. He had Tony Parker and the refs in his pocket. Got lucky that main players got injured.. Steve Kerr is his savior.. [IMG] Popazit shouldn't have been coach o'the year either..it twas a bunch of baloney!

Kobe a better all-round player than duncan? [IMG] [IMG] thats some funny stuff

Duncan better rebounder, defender, shot blocker, can destroy a team on his own...Only thing is Kobe is better at is trying to going after little girls in hotels rooms...

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Popazit shouldn't have been coach o'the year either..it twas a bunch of baloney</div>

Yes because getting the 1st seed and winning 60 games means nothing [IMG]

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">and the refs in his pocket</div>

Just like Shaq has had the refs in his pocket the last 5 years...jesus...open your damn eyes

Yeah I think Kobe has more skills than Duncan. He can dribble, shoot (best perimeter player in the L), pass, draw defense, score, get others involved, rebound well for a guard, play tight defense (all-1st team), steal the ball, dunk it better, funner to watch, draws fouls(although not enough are called.)

Better at chasing girls? Is that your best argument? I hope that was a diss, and if it was---it was PATHETIC!! First off, you don't know if Duncan could be doing the same thing..second off, I think the girl prolly came up to his room herself and it was consensual. Kobe wasn't chasing girls.. [IMG]

Getting the first seed? It took the Spurs long enough. They barely skidded past the Mavs at the end of the season. How come Phil Jackson doesn't get Coach of the Year more often?! I mean, he is the winningest coach in history. Didn't the Lakers go 67-13 in the year 2000, but what, Doc Rivers got the award in Orlando? [IMG]

Shaq has the refs in his pockets? Riiiiiight. He has the whole frikkin team sagging and naggin on his arms, and then Duncan might get tapped by 1 player and he complains to the zebras... (cough) Golden Boy!(cough, cough) Shaq may dish out some punishment here and there, but it hardly makes up for the beating he takes down low.

So please, next time you decide to lecture me, please don't put me to sleep talking about boring old Duncan.

TD stays faithful to his wife I'm sure of that....He doesn't act like some horny teen like Kobe must of done...

Phil Jackson has been blessed with having great players....Would love to see him take over a lottery team.... You are using the arguement Spurs took long enough to get to 1st seed? [IMG] jesus...thats like saying it took Lakers long enough to be a 500 team....

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Shaq has the refs in his pockets? Riiiiiight. Every single fan will tell you how much Shaq gets away with for the last 5 years..what was it...30 something FT's in game 6 of the WCF v the Kings..what a joke...

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">So please, next time you decide to lecture me, please don't put me to sleep talking about boring old Duncan.</div>

Next time don't be so damn biased every time you post...boring? This thread is about who is the best player so of course Duncan will be mentioned..back to back MVP's....just won the title..Funny you say putting you to sleep because Duncan is boring..but whats so exciting about Shaq? zzzzzz

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah I think Kobe has more skills than Duncan. Everything you mentioned Duncan does better..apart from dribble...As TD doesn't do alot of that..unless he is in the post....Tim Duncan has guided Spurs two 2 NBA titles...and this recent one was more impressive..as he didn't have nearly as much talent or even as good a 2nd option as any of the other top teams...He makes his team-mates better....Give Duncan a star 2nd option and Spurs would hardly lose....

In basketball, you want quality over quantity. However, Kobe had neither. Shaq and Fox were out. And the players he had playing along side him were terrible. TD is better than Kobe...hmm...if Kobe had the Spurs, he would have much better stats than TD..think about that..
