Pierce actually nearly lost his front teeth on a play where he was hammered by rookie amare stodemire (kobe had just collided with antawn pierce was HACKED) they showed the pieces of Pierces teeth on teh floor on tv! thats just one example though. How many celtic games have u whatched that wernt nationally televised? even on the national games the announcers have said numerious times and any number of columnists and published experts has said that pierce gets a lot of calls but for how much he goes to the hoop and for the way he gets MANHANDLED almost every single time he should get a lot more. youll never see a phontom foul call on pierce. the refs wont do it. not just because they dislike walker but because pierce said some dumbass comments about the refs a couple years ago and theyve been sticking it to him ever since
I cant believe this but I havta agree with olskool... Pierce is really thrown around... Kobe gets the phantom calls as well as the touch fouls... not to say he is never fouled but he does have the refs lookin out for him and him in their good will... it was part of his pretty boy, good guy image on the court if you dont believe me, Game 3, LA vs the TWolves is a PERFECT example of a phantom call...

I have come to notice something. I frequent a number of basketball forums and everyone of them have a topic to discuss the best player in the league. Of course people ALWAYS argue and disagree and support their points differently ... everyone has stats to back them up. There is one common factor in ALL these 'Best Player in the NBA' topics - Whether or not KOBE is better than ??? (Insert TD, KG, T-Mac here). That alone answers the question. If it was so obvious that Shaq, KG, or TD were better players than Kobe then we would really not be having this discussion and instead we would be arguing whether TD is the best vs. KG. In Jordan's early years the same arguements were used against Jordan that are being used against Kobe now ... the phantom calls, the selfish play, shooting too many shots, etc. If we are using height, domination, and person most likely to win you the game by himself there is no player who deserves that more than a healthy Shaq. Everyone in the league knows and fears that. So if that what you are going to use to dispute Kobe being the best in the league then TD and KG still come behind Shaq.
