Do you really need ANOTHER Shooting guard that can play SF?

I don't think so. This is an awful trade for the Grizzlies. It is the exact opposite of what they want to do.

If Grizzles do this trade signing Posey and trading for Miller would look like two terrible decisions....Jones played like 32 games last year....he is getting old...has a horrible contract....All this trade does is improve the Heat....I think Grizzles should try and get a big man from the Warriors...as thats what they need...not another player like Jones....A center is all the Grizzles need and they are set

miami wants SWIFT but we have to many SG and SF but eddie was an ALL STAR and would be a great addition to memphis and POSEY of the bench

Posey is a starter and did not sign to be on the bench..and yes Jones WAS an all-star..but so was Chris Gatling...

I dont care that they said that POSEY will start i take JONES any time over POSEY what did POSEY prove in the NBA?JONES was a all star he went to the PLAYOFFS. And he gives the best chance for memphis to win

I would rather have James Posey anyday. And please stop capitalizing their names!

    Posey Perks -

    1.Younger Age
    2.Smaller Contract
    3.More Upside
    4.Less Injuries

And it's not whether or not we personally want him to start. It's whether or not Memphis' upper managment promised him a starting job, which they did.

Posey for sure..Basically the same reasons as Wave mentioned...He has good talent to be a pretty good player..Jones is coming off a bad injury season and is getting old..while Posey is young...don't just look at the stats to who is better...

Jones has a lot of years left he o ready prove that he can play Posey avg about 10 points for his career eddie was draft in 1996 so he aint that old he still has couple good years left.He is a better defender and scorer then posey and he is a veteran player that will help memphis win if they get him

    I like JONES

    JWILL
    JONES
    MILLER
    GASOL
    RIGHT

    bench
    POSEY
    BATTIER
    BELL
    JONES

Eddie Jones is turning 34 this year...and he came in the league in 1994...not 96...Age is important in this and so is possible injuries..which Jones had last year..Posey is alot younger..and has more upside...can attack much better and is quicker he is also a better rebounder.....His defence is pretty good too...

Eddie started playing in 94/95 season eddie is better defender and scorer then posey. Posey might be a better defender, he is only 26 but he is a player that is better coming of the bench.
If memphis got eddie they would win more games right?
I get u point that he is 34 but he still has at least 3 more good season
and he would be a good fit.

Eddie could attack the basket better then posey what did posey avg.?
9 points if posey was so good he would avg at least 13 to 15 points a game he had a chance in houston to avg that,

Why do you have to bring stats into everything? they are important but don't tell the whole story about a player....He can attack better..he is a good slasher....which is his game....Jones is too big a risk and he won't be around as much as Posey...Posey signed for the Grizzles because he was told he would get a start spot....which he will get....otherwise he will very upset....Jerry West got him for a reason...and Jerry knows talent..

Jerry knows talent thats Y he traded Gooden and Girecek for Miller
They both avg 15 a game and Miller had inury back.

Then Jerry messed up the draft when he drafted 2 second rounders pick.
If he knew talent he would off grab LAMPE who was the biggest steal of the draft.

I get u what u saying about Posey i know eddie is a risk but when he is healthy he will put up great #'s.

Yes, Jerry knows talent. That is why he signed Posey and hasn't traded for Jones yet.

Posey was not a big deal yet. If posey will put up some good #'s then it will be a good deal.

Posey is the fourth best player on our team coming in. He will be our starting Shooting Guard and we will not even pay him five million his first season. Last year with the Rockets he averaged about ten points and five rebounds alongside Mobley, Francis, Ming, Griffin, and Norris. How can you not call that a big deal for Memphis?
