Ron Artest For Brent Barry rumour..?

    http://www.nypost.com/sports/39957.htm

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Energized from deporting and importing his first head coaches as president of the Pacers, Larry Bird now is eagerly in the hunt to signiture his first trade. According to someone very much in the know, serious conversation is taking place between Indiana and Seattle regarding the swap of Ron Artest (about to jump-start a 6-year, $42.7 million extension) for Brent Barry, who's in the final year (5.4M) of his contract. </div>

That would be a good trade for Seattle..

    BUT

1-It was written by peter vercey..don't believe anything this guy says

2-It was from the NY post..the same newspaper that said mike bibby and hedo for Kidd was in the works..they also said..jason kidd for steve nash was in talks...and antonie walker to Knicks was in the works

They make this kind of crap up.. Worth talking about..but not going to happen..

Yeah, Seattle already has Rashard Lewis at the 3. I could see Indiana wanting Barry for his PG skills, but I think they'd be giving up a little too much. As a Pistons fan, I'd love to see Artest less each year though. He's a difference maker with his tight D.

Yeah the Pacers need a pg (notice how they tried to get one right before the playoffs....). If the Pacers closed this deal they'd have one of the best inside-outside games in the L.

As for the sonics, they need someone who can D-up on the elite (and even mediocre) shooting guards in the L. I've seen Brent Barry play courtside (I'm from Bellevue, WA) and the guy can't play D. David Wesley took him off the dribble every time!!

Plus, the Sonics are soft. The little attitude that they had went out the window when they traded GP.
