In a wide-ranging interview with the Boston Globe, Baker talked about his problem and said he has not had a drink since Feb. 27 -- the day the team suspended him for what it called "personal issues." See http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/ce...m_an_alcoholic/ also Apparently, he's down to his rookie playing weight
Too bad, I was a huge Baker fan, this guy had Hall Of Fame talent in my opinion, this just goes to show you what "pressure" can do to some players. I won't crack on the guy because I know how he can play, all I will say is just get better and take care of yourself.
Wow, that does explain a lot. If he can recover then he could possibly get back to an NBA level again. Best wishes to him in his recovery
Well admitting it is the first step in the right direction for Baker. It's going to be a tough journey for him, hopefully he has the mental strength to overcome his vices.
You can just imagine Vin in one of those support meetings Host-"Hello thank you all for joining us ,we have a new member to talk to today Vin Baker-"Hi I'm Vin Baker....I am an alcoholic"
pfft. Baker will still suck no matter what. Wyc Grousbeck would make a better center even while drunk of his ass. I hope vin gets better. I wish him well and I hope he can stop being miserable with his alchohol and his 50 million dollars he didnt earn but hes finished in this league

Its too easy to call him a loser, people go through problems, I will offer the guy support, because in his prime he was a damn good basketball player. I am not defending him either, but he turned to drinking to deal with his personal problems. No matter what, basketball should have been his escape, and now his all star, potential hall of fame career will not be lived up, I think that is enough for him to deal with, as he will never be the same player ever again.
of course. htats what im saying. hell never be the same again. he didnt suck. he just sucks. he doesnt even have his coordination any more. Can get off the ground as well as your average house and whatching him try to play defense now is like whatching an ostridge trying to do the electric slide
