<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It's hard to feel sorry for a guy who has played 14 winning seasons in the NBA and was given, at age 36, a two-year, $10 million package, but I do feel a little bad for Cliff Robinson. Of all his accomplishments in this game, he was most proud of getting to the playoffs in 14 straight seasons and, except for the lockout year, never being on a team that won fewer than 44 games. Both of those streaks will likely end this year. He was traded to forever rebuilding Golden State. ... How messed up are the Warriors? They lost Gilbert Arenas to the Wizards. They traded their franchise player, Antawn Jamison, for Nick Van Exel, who, you guessed it, isn't thrilled about playing on another losing team. So now there is talk that the Warriors might trade Van Exel to the Knicks for Kurt Thomas and Charlie Ward. Wait, there's more. There is a power struggle going on in the front office between General Manager Garry St. Jean and his heir-apparent, Chris Mullin. They have very different ideas on how the team should be constructed. Mullin, for example, is a proponent of second-year forward Mike Dunleavy, who he thinks is going to be a star. St. Jean and Coach Eric Musselman wonder if Dunleavy ever will be consistently productive. In the middle of all of this is Jason Richardson (Michigan State), who has told friends that he wants to get out of Golden State as soon as he is able. </div> Even more problems for the Warriors now..first NVE wants out.....J-rich too? DAMN
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting BallerAK47:</div><div class="quote_post">Sucks because they were an up and coming team.</div> Yeah i was looking foward to seein them play next season
That's insane, I feel bad for GS. They were supposed to be one of the most improved teams in NBA this year.
Richardson has been saying he wants out even before the Arenas ordeal finished up. Just another problem the front office has to deal with...
DAMN. This sucks. I thought that we were going to have a good team this year- now it looks like it'll never happen. St. Jeans a dumbass. He's f***ed this team up. They almost made the playoffs last year! And if they ttry to trade Richardson, we're screwed then too because there's no way that we're going to get good market value. He'll probably just clear out more "cap room". I don't care if we have $20 mil in cap space, all the top players WON'T sign with the warriors if they dont do something to change their image with player relations SOON.
Looks like the 2 worse teams are now in lock East - Milwaukee West - GS dang I thought that team would at least make the playoffs this year...

Former Warrior, Chris Mullin, was also a big player in the NVE deal. Gary St. Jean has not been given the freedom and open wallet to work his magic, and he is the scapegoat in all of this. I don't blame NVE or J-Rich wanting to leave GS. We've seen the Warriors destroy a young up and coming team a few years back when they had CWeb, Spree, and Hardaway. Unless Cohen sells the team or changes his mentality this team will never be good. Any player who wants to win and compete will not put up with a franchise who does not take the risks associated with making a winning team.
